Best simple cockpit ambience and flight crew audio?

Featured Replies

I'm looking just for something very simple that executes key-assignable .wav files for believable sounding flight crew chatter. Not so much interested in pilot-copilot dialogue. I really do want something simple, like me!Thanks for your comments,Noel

Hey Noel, great to meet you.Well admittedly this is my first reply in here but anyhow here goes. There's a great little add on called FS Passengers which does just about everything you want and more. I'm not sure if it is what you are after but have a little look. You do have to pay for it, though there is a demo you can try out first to see whether you like it and want to part with your well earned pennies (or cents) or whatever gold coins fill your money pouch. It is actually on my own list of items to buy, but sadly being a poor student there's nothing but gravel in my money pouch.Good luck, oh and here's a link for you.http://www.fspassengers.com/

FSpassengersX is a wonderful software, get it!The only thing I miss is support - almost none. So get a safe copy of validation-key in case of reinstalling...

I have read that the FS2004 version of FlightDeck Sound Effects Panel works in FSX. I downloaded it yesterday and was going to try it today. Search the file library for fdsfxpnl.zip

The demo looks pretty cool and I like what it offers. It doesn't have much in the way of pilot-passenger audio it would appear. I was hoping for more key-triggered audio that you might hear during commercial flights:"This is captain X, and it looks like we're cleared to take off in just a moment . . .""We should be touching down in about 2 minutes. Conditions are clear with just a little breeze out of the northwest . . ."Things like that. Don't see much in that area so far. Can these be added do you know?Noel

Hi Jimmy--this looks like exactly what I was wanting. I'm downloading now. FSPassenger looks interesting too, which I'm checking out now.

Yikes! Looks a little intimidating since you have to install the in each aircraft I think. I guess that's only a couple for me. Or perhaps the .mp3 files can be imported into FSPassengers and have a key-press activate them.

Yes Noel. I installed it today and since it is a gauge it has to be installed in each panel that you want to use it in. It is not too hard, I got it put in the POSKY 737-700 in FSX and Vista. Even managed to get it to work in the VC. If I can get it done.....anyone can.... :(

i own FSpassengers and dont regret getting it! It is the most sophisticated cockpit ambience and flight crew audio program. it is definentaly worth the cash!the demo will give you a taste of what its like but you can only takeoff from KSFO (san fransisco) but land anywhere. You can even download airline voicepacks like AA and QF.By the way does anyone know how to get the premier aircraft E190 VC (virtual cockpit) to the dreamwings E170 one??THANKS! :(

Are there other voices than the English old school marm in the demo that delivers the cabin attendants' in flight annoucements? It's nasty! If there are better voices, then I'll buy it for sure. The demo voice for English I heard was really a show-stopper for me.Thanks in advance . . .

Noel,FS2Crew does what you're looking for, but it's generally not considered "simple-simple" :( There is a learning curve, which varies from version to version. There are a million FS2Crew user contributed videos on YouTube if you want to see what it looks like in action:FS2Crew You Tube Video Search ResultsOther than that, there are also some freeware crew voice programs out there you might want to try. They're generally pretty simple, so they might be what you're looking for.Cheers,

Hey NoelI'm terribly sorry it has taken me so long to get around to responding to you. With the new academic year about to start life has gotten a little crazy all of a sudden. In answer to your question (albeit somewhat sideways) I would recommend you head over to the FS Passengers forum since it is most likely filled with users who have/do use the ad on. I know that doesn't answer your question directly so apologies for that, but since I have only tried the demo myself for lack of the gold coins I spoke about, I wouldn't want to shout too loud about the finer details. In addition there has also been some other great comments in this thread for you to have a wee finger on the chin moment on. I really do hope you manage to find what your are looking for.All the very best to youFM.

I use FsPax and Fs2crew along with Radar contact, rarely there is a dull moment. I think Fs2crew may be what your really after but as Byork said it is not simple to use, but IMO well worth learning. FsPax has several voice packs included plus more are available on the website and I'm pretty sure they all work with the demo. RC4 while not pilot to co-pilot talk it does add radio chatter both AI and generic as well as more ATC options.
