Hi Dirk,Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I love the CS757, but I did not keep track of news from Captain Sim, so I missed the release of v2.2. I'll load it up later, but it looks like a lot of fixes were done. I would generally say that this update DOES improve the quality of the product, since earlier patches have done the same for me. Do you own Captain Sim's 757? I have to say that I don't fly it much anymore because they are not used by my favorite carrier. I will still download and see how this works. :(

personally I think is a quite good product, after the latest update I've not had a single CTD, dynamics are good, FMC too, sometimes VNAV is not perfect, but sure is good :(, a lot of systems are modeled, external model is perfect, a lot of animations, 2d panel is very nice, VC is good, my FPS are very good, (fs9 is locked @35) and in 90% I have 35 FPS, in heavy detailed airports, with all slides to max, I never go below 25, with cumulus never below 20.

Well IMHO this basically sums it all up...As you can see, the GMT is 12:57 and I am flying KEWR-EGLL. Imagine my surprise when sitting at the gate my brakes are at 9! (Haven't even moved) I will hit MERIT my first WP at 12:47 (OMG, they created a time machine) :( Then HFD which is another 30+ miles will take -1 minutes and I will be there at 12:46 and the entire 3115 mile trip will take 7 minutes, I will barely use enough fuel to power the APU!I mean, if that doesn't basically sum up the quality of this bird I don't know what does... I only posted because I am doing CO18 in real life in a few weeks and wanted to do it in the sim so I loaded the latest version and figured I would give it a shot. :( Still a joke.-POK, to be fair, I just loaded another repaint and it seems to be ok... Weird but I am going to keep playingEdit 2: It appears to be the entry of the CFxxx in the Flight Plan. If I delete CF27R from the Flightplan then I get numbers that are at least closer (still off but closer) but when that is in the Flightplan the FMC blows up...

Visually it is superior to the LVL-D with more 3D candy and animations as well. From a procedural standpoint it is not even close the LVL-D trumps it hand down. But after figuring out you can't have the CFXXX in your flightplan with the CS at least the numbers look better in the FMC. Only issue is now you don't have that last waypoint like 8 or 9 miles out (like I am used to.) If you can get it on sale after all the latest updates I would say go for it. Beware though it is not great at night in the VC so try for day flights if possible ;) . The night lighting is pretty atrocious and there is no way to fly with a dark cockpit like the LVL-D. You are stuck with bright lights even when trying to focus on a night approach. Even when you shut off the flood light the entire VC is still bright. It gets a little darker if you fly with the landing lights on all the time but it is a pretty major shortcoming IMO. But like I said, if you can get it on sale go for it. She is great to look at, the VC is beautiful, sounds are good, doing a walk around with active camera is a treat; I think you will enjoy it. -Paul

So am I JP; I am hoping they will have SOME FMC functionality at least... Like I said above, if you can get the CS757 on sale for one of their $10 clearances go for it and you won't be disappointed but I wouldn't pay what I paid originally that is for da*n sure! It still has a lot of shortcomings and that VC lighting at night is just horrible....-Paul

It is a question that cannot be answered as you're trying to compare an available product with one that doesn't exist yet.To compare actually you will have to wait till the QW is released and then wait some more to hear what others say.Unless you're in a hurry to fly a 757. Then, like Paul mentioned above, The FS9 version of CS's is cheap as chips now. Not much to risk.

due to the fact Ernie Alston,Corey Ford and Emil Serafino are on the QW team andby the previews I've seen sofar I think it'll be a good package.It'll be a definate buy for me,if only for the fact one should support those still developing for FS9.Also like the fact they've included the retrofit cockpit,that's a nice touch.But to be honest,I'm dearly missing the 757,it is such a beautiful plane,it's got power and sexappeal,and I really hope(and from what I see,QW does) someone'll do her justice,it's the perfect plane for flightsimmers too.Can go far,can go not very far,which makes it ideal for me,anyway.
