November 26, 200916 yr Anybody tried both?I'd specially like to know if there's any performance difference between the two since 2010 uses some new algorithm... or is this just a commercial/marketing thing?I already own FSGlobal 2008 and I'd like to know if there is any point in buying 2010? November 26, 200916 yr Hi Tomaz,I made some shots of the Mont Blanc area with FS Global 2010. I very much like this product.http://forums.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?t=204696 Best regards from RelaxX
November 26, 200916 yr Author Those are some really nice shots! Did you maybe previously own FSGlobal 2008?I know that 2010 covers the whole (give or take) planet and that it has some utility for correcting wrong elevations... does this work? Is it hard (like in 2008)? I'm considering buying 2010 just for that option since a lot of airports in 2008 are in wrong elevation, hence valleys and strange shapes around some airports. November 26, 200916 yr I recently upgraded from FSGlobal 2008 to 2010.The mesh data is of a higher resolution in many areas than in 2008.This link should explain more - http://www.fsglobal2010.com/indexA.htmWhether it's worth it or not depends upon how much value you place upon having accurate mesh. There is an upgrade discount path through their online shop at http://www.fsim.net.You just need to register your copy of 2008 with them to qualify. :(

I never used this utility so far. Tell me an airport with this problem and then I will test it there. Best regards from RelaxX

November 27, 200916 yr Does anybody know where i can purchase 2010 in download on the net.I know it will be a big download, but i dont mind.I suspect this product is cd and shiping only though. No download possible. It's a HUGH package of 6 DVD's. A download would be approximately 20 - 25Gb. I bought my set through Aerosoft; had the package in house within 3 days! Regards, Frank van der Werff
November 27, 200916 yr Its big but its not huge, 25 gig would only take about 4 hours to download on my connection, assuming the server could cope of course. This is the reason why I went with FSGenesis as you can download it, it was just over 12.6 gig for everything they do and Justin's server coped fine allowing full download speed for my connection at all times. Cheers, Andy.

January 1, 201016 yr Thanks much for your replies regard download of fsglobal 2010.think i might investigate fsgenesis as i prefer download.i already have fsglobal 2008, and its not bad.How does fsgenesis and fsglobal 2000 series compareI own both FSGenesis and FSGlobal 2008 and FSGenesis is by far the better product. FSGlobal 2010 has increased its resolution in many areas and is a vast inmprovement over FSGlobal 2008. I do the the majority of my flying in the US so FSGenesis is still the product of choice for me (overall higher resolution in North America). Here some links to compare products:http://www.fsgenesis.com/Merchant2/merchan...egory_Code=SPCLhttp://www.fsim.net/fsglobal2010/indexA.htm
January 2, 201016 yr well, the comparison is about FS Global 2008 and FSGenesis! how would FS Global 2010 compare with FS Global 2008 AND FSGenesis is the question for me?!it would be interesting for me, if FSG2010 would finally have higher resolution for Europe, as neither FSGenesis nor FSG2008 updates European meshes.EDIT:Alright with data from http://www.fsim.net/fsglobal2010/intro.htm i've made a lil' table of comparison now (i.e. i just extended the comparison table from FS Genesis site). But this is a bit estimated:
February 10, 201016 yr Hey, guys!Could you tell me if this release, FS Global 2010, includes all the previously sceneries' meshes released by Aerosoft, for example, Lukla X ?I mean, I don't expect the whole scenery, but I hope the land mesh is the same. Can you confirm this? So I don't have to install this blindly. Thanks!
February 10, 201016 yr Author What about this tool for correcting elevations... yesterday I saw somewhere that this is actualy a demo version of another program.. this was a big downer for me. A demo? C'mon.. Tomaz Drnovsek My FSX Videos My AVSIM Gallery
