June 13, 201015 yr Wow, nobody's posted in this thread for a while..Time I did :(toward the end of July, I'm going to be in a flyin from a place called Groote Eylandt, an island off the coast of Australia's Northern Territory to Darwin. One of the airlines that service the route is Airnorth, (all one word) and they fly EMB 120 aircraft.Their livery looks like this:Photo by Martin Eadie on airlinersPhoto by Misha Popov on airliners. - awesome amazing photo. :( The airline also flies to many other points in the Northern Territory and Northwest Queensland, covered by FTX OZx and Ants Aussie Airports scenery.Mr Hodkinson did a very nice Sharp Airlines JS41 for me before, (real airline flys Metro Merlin III/IV aircraft in Victoria and South Australia) so I thought I'd lodge this request. The Colour of the Tail of the Airnorth is fairly similar to the colour of the engines and lower fuselage on the British Airways current livery.Since the aircraft have a fairly similar shape (apart from the position of the Elevator on the Tail) I reccon a JS41 version would work pretty nicely. Performance wise theyre pretty close too.Regards, Trent Hopkinson Trent Hopkinson, 2015 Crewmember of www.mangrove.com.au WorldFlight sim Youtube channel www.youtube.com/user/musicalaviator
June 13, 201015 yr Hi TrentI can not honestly remember if I originally posted this link before in this thread, or if it was a request that I had via a PM, but if you want to take this version of the AirNorth colour scheme for a spin, here is the download link for the files..http://www.filefront.com/16734255/AN_01.zipI hope she is something like the scheme you are after, and sorry about not having a screen shot, but this is a repaint I did some time ago and I have deleted almost all the screen shots I had of her.If you need anything adding or changing, just let me know and I will try my best to assist.Jim Hodkinson<EDIT>I did manage to find a screen shot of the Airnorth repaint after all.
June 14, 201015 yr Hi TrentI can not honestly remember if I originally posted this link before in this thread, or if it was a request that I had via a PM, but if you want to take this version of the AirNorth colour scheme for a spin, here is the download link for the files..If you need anything adding or changing, just let me know and I will try my best to assist.Looks great. Flew it around in the Northern Territory today on Vatsim :)Only 1 thing missing :( 1 'Star' on the tail. It's there on the Right side (Pilot's Right when sitting in seat) but on the Left side the 'top most' star on the tail seems to be missing.Sadly the specific registration here (VH-ANB) was involved in a crash about 3 months ago resulting in the death of the 2 pilots who were the only ones on board. If you would like to make the correction of the extra star on the tail, I would also like to have a different registration on her. probably VH-ANN or VH-ANJ.And if changing the rego, the title "Savannah" should dissapear to.I will refrain from asking for the logo "Embraier" and "Brazillia" being put on there ;)Here's a little pic I took after landing at Groote Eylandt today.(The extra 'star' should be just above and forward of the little strake thing on the tail) Trent Hopkinson, 2015 Crewmember of www.mangrove.com.au WorldFlight sim Youtube channel www.youtube.com/user/musicalaviator
June 14, 201015 yr Oh yeh. the other one I'v been meaning to ask for - for ages, is Tasair's VH-SMQhttp://www.pbase.com/aviationimagesrf/image/77441590http://tinyurl.com/24b4fvyReal life a JS31, (obviously :( ) this bird flies out of Hobart, Tasmania (Aus) to charters round that state and occasionally up to Flinders Island, and rarely on charters to Victoria.Basically 3 stripes. Dark Green, Even Darker Green, and So dark it's nearly Black green. How you figure out what to do with the Engine strips I don't know, since theyre a completley different shape on the JS41 :( but I guess artistic licence and all that ;)Did notice none of the pictures here had a clear view of the logo on the Fuselage. so here's a clearish one (though the green is too light imo)Also note the 'Blob' in the middle of the logo, is actually a map of Tasmania. That would then complete all the routes on this map: :Dhttp://www.inflightmagazine.com.au/filelib...tasair_full.gif Trent Hopkinson, 2015 Crewmember of www.mangrove.com.au WorldFlight sim Youtube channel www.youtube.com/user/musicalaviator
June 14, 201015 yr Jim what you are doing is great, if you have the time could you paint a Porter Airlines, great little airline up here in Canada, thanks.
June 14, 201015 yr Hi TrentGlad she was nearly what you wanted, the updates will not be a problem (counting was never my strong point), as for the registration, it would not be to much to actually do both and put them both in the same zip archive, let me see what I can come up with.As for the Tasair, I will have a quick look around to get hold of some photographs and get back to you when I have something.@ IanShe looks straight forward enough (famous last words), I will have to get some closer photographs of the tail logo though, but I think we could come up with something.Jim Hodkinson
June 14, 201015 yr Hi TrentI managed to revamp the AirNorth repaint to include the tail logo fix and also did the two registrations that you mentioned, so here is the new download link for the updated files..http://www.filefront.com/16748723/AN_Set_01.zipI have almost finished the Tasair repaint, I am just off to look for the registration of the one in the photograph that you included, and that should be that finished, so I will be back as soon as I have the information and have updated the repaint, until then here is a work in progress until i get back.Jim Hodkinson

June 15, 201015 yr You are more than welcome, happy to help, actually while doing this I found some Tasair schemes that would look well on a certain BN Islander that I have, so thanks for getting me to look at the scheme so I could find them.Take care, and have funJim Hodkinson

June 15, 201015 yr Hi IanAs promised below is the download link for the rendition of the J41 in the Porter colour scheme, now you may notice that the tail logo covers the full tail and is not trimmed as it is in the photograph, while it is not a problem to do it this way, I have to say that it to me at least looks a little slab sided when trimmed back that way on a more flowing tail area, so if you would like to take her for a spin to see what you think, then here is the link for the files..http://www.filefront.com/16757807/J41_Porter_01.zipIf you do decide that you would rather have the trimmed back tail logo, just let me know and I will update the files accordingly, the same goes for any addition or changes you may need.Take care, and have fun.Jim Hodkinson@TrentNice shots, I can never get convincing looking screen shots, I have no idea why I just can
June 15, 201015 yr Jim that is just perfect, thanks so much. I really enjoy your work. Great job, now my Canadian collection is complete Jazz, Air Georgian, and now Porter. I would like to say I won't be bothering you any more for paints, but thats a promise I might not be able to keep :( Thanks again.
June 15, 201015 yr Hi I was wondering if you could do an Air Tindi repaint similar to the picture shown here.ThanksJonathan Paul
