World of AI + Windows 7 (x64)

Featured Replies

Hi all! :( I just set up my new system running Win7 x64. FS9 is running well, too. But now the questions:Does the latest World of AI installer work correctly with Windows 7 64-bit and FS9?And what about the mandatory .NET Framework v2.0? Shall I install Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x64)? It's for 64-bit systems, but I don't see Windows 7 listed in the supported OS list. Does it work with Windows 7 anyway?Ok, I know I could just try it out. But I spent several hours to have a great running system and I don't wanna mess it up right now...Many thanks for help!J.R.P.S. And EditVoicepack? Is it working too with Win7 x64? And the required .NET Framework?

Check the Control Panel / Programs listing. I believe W7 gets all the .Net's.

Hi McCrash! Thanks for your reply.I checked the control panel / active features. There is only .NET v3.5.1 active. Couldn't find .NET v2.0.

Hi Opa!Doh, :( good hint! Gonna do that.I'll keep you informed in this post. Some other simmers may also be interested.GreetsJ.R.

I'm running Win 7 x64 and had no problems installing World of Ai and also EditVoicepack for fs9. I don't remember right now but I believe that when installing EditVoicepack for fs9 it will prompt you to download and install the correct .Net app. I will check my add/remove list when I get home to see if it is installed or not as I am at work now.Maurice

Hi Maurice :( Thanks a lot for you post. Oh yes, please tell me what .NET app. you had to install to run WOAI and EVP installers. Thanks again, much appreciated.GreetsJ.R.

The WOAI installer works just fine with the pre-installed .net 3.5 that comes with W7.Don't forget to run a FS9 - FSX bgl converter as all the traffic files WOAI produces are FS9 format.

Remember J.R. only mentioned FS9. No need to convert bgl's. I checked my add/remove listing and .Net 1.1 is installed so go ahead and run the EditVoicepack installer. It will prompt you with a web link to download and install the correct .Net app before you can complete the installation. WOAI will install just fine as Dean said in his post.Maurice

Oops.. my apologies.I kinda forget some folks are still flying FS9 ;)

No that wasn't the problem. OK system -New Computer" Windows 7 - FS9.When I tried to install 5 WOAI packages using the installer I get this error message"Could not find a part of the pathC:\Users\user\Desktop\woains24\scenery\world\scenery\Traffic_000_"I am going to send this to WOAI but hoping I might get a quicker solution here.A folder containg scenery - world-scenery - and the 5 Traffic_000_ is sitting on my desktop. It neeeds to go to FS2004 I presume. In the destination box in the installer was Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 but it was "greyed out" and I couldn't get it to bold. Thanks Bill

Well I've got sorted. The guys over at WOAI forum (in particular Reggie and Garfield) got me up and running. They are to be recommended if you are having WOAI problems.Bill

Could you please post their answer here? I think that could be interesting. How do you access the WoAI forums? Here I can see only two forums about News and Announcements. Where are the support forums? Many thanks!
