You mean to tell me that you have tried FSX sp2 with UTX, GEX, Orbx, REX, and the L-39?When I look at fs 2004 on my screen with all it's add-ons, here's what I see:Less detail in the cockpits.Less detailed aircraft. (no L-39)Less ground texture detail. (No Orbx)Less cloud detail. (REX) is not RE 2004Less water detail including the reflections. The weather is not as good as in fsx.Less autogen.Do I need to continue? There's so much more in fsx that I don't even want to continue. You do need the hardware to run it and all the add-ons.But to say that fs 2004 is only 25% less than FSX and all it's glory, it's just plain foolish and ignorant. Until a person experiences FSX and all of it's greatness, one can't really say that fs 2004 is almost as good. As, I said, all I'm doing is having some fun.
I see you are from Weekie Wachee Fla. as I remember, you also have mermaids Does FSX have them? (LOL)

HelloI have been there and returned to FS9 and I don't consider myself foolish and ignorant.I have REX in both sims.I consider the water in FSX to be way over done and totally unrealistic inlandThe weather is worse, have you seen what passes for rain and snow in FSX.Basically the ground textures are of a higher resolution but the default textures and landclass were a bad joke in FSX.Way more Addons available for FS9, and I own most of them.Enjoy whatever Sim you want, I run both. But please don't call FS9 users foolish and ignorant, makes you look a bit silly
I didn't call fs9 users foolish nor ignorant. Please read the post again. Reading is fundamental.I was just trying to have some fun. I know that there's a lot to like about fs 2004 and I will never call fs9 users foolish.Just those who think fs9 is better than fsx without evidence that they have tried both sims with all the add-ons we talk about.

Why do you assume that I haven't tried FSX with all its add-on's? my friend has FSX with the add-on's that you listed.

I am an avid FS9 user but I don't give a damn what anyone else uses. Each to their own and their own preferences. I own FS9 with numerous add ons as do many but I cannot get worked up over this constant name calling over FS9 Vs FSX. I must say though that I now too have GE PRO2, REX 2004 and what a difference that aptly named FS 9.75 now makes!! It has revitalised flying in FS9 for me now that I can no longer afford regular hours in a rented Piper Warrior. To make things even better I suspect My Traffic 2010 for FS 2004 should be in the mail tomorow. I had to as my old laptop died and and the Ulitmate traffic disc had scratches when I tried to install everything again. By the way the new laptop is a Toshiba A500 with 500GB - DC 2.66GHZ CPU, 4gb, HDMI, TV Tuner and a 1GB Nvidia GT230(?) card. I set the sliders to max and the fps to max at 60 and that's where she runs at in all views except the VC in PMDG products where it drops to 57fps. Fabulous huh! The big Screen LCD TV is off limits tomorrow the HDMI cable will be hooked up and pizza and cofffee will be slipped under the door while I fly Melbourne, Singapore and Bombay en route to Europe. Might have to rest in Bombay though.Gerry
