December 16, 200916 yr Try posting your RXPWX500.INI file (should be in one of the JS41 folders under simobjects/airplanes).EDIT: NVM, I see you already included it above Tom Risager NGX tutorial: http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?Location=AVSIM&Proto=ftp&DLID=162360 SIDs & STARs Worked Examples: LOWI-UUDD, KSEA-KLAX, EKCH-ENGM, YSCB-YPAD
December 16, 200916 yr I wonder if there are settings in the RXPWX500.INI file located in C:\ProgramData\Reality XP\Common\Settings folder that can somehow override those in the JS41 folder. This is what mine look like, do you see the same:[KEYBOARD]WX5_BRT_INC=WX5_BRT_DEC=WX5_GAIN_INC=WX5_GAIN_DEC=WX5_NAV=WX5_SUBMODE_UP=WX5_SUBMODE_DN=WX5_RANGE_UP=WX5_RANGE_DN=WX5_HOLD=WX5_TRACK_L=WX5_TRACK_R=WX5_MAIN_MODE_NEXT=WX5_MAIN_MODE_PREV=WX5_TILT_INC=WX5_TILT_DEC=WX5_TILT_ZERO=WX5_EASYMODE_TOGGLE=WX5_VERTSTAB_TOGGLE=WX5_POPUP_TOGGLE=WX5_POPUPALT_TOGGLE=Anything else should be commented out. December 16, 200916 yr Commercial Member I have found the following in the RXPWX500.INI file in the Airplanes/PMDG_JS4100 folder:[sETTINGS]Wx500Popup=15500NoFrame=OnIf you remove the NoFrame=On, you will end up with a wx radar similar to the screenshot posted above (and reposted here): Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com

December 17, 200916 yr Author Hi Vin and Tom,Firstly, thank you very much for trying to help me with this problem. I realise it is not a PMDG issue per say and I am seeking help on the Reality support forum over at Flight1 but that is a bit quiet and needless to say I have had no joy there either.Anyway, back to this: Tom - I checked my ini files in the C:\ProgramData\Reality XP\Common\Settings folder and it appears to have the exactly the same contents you show from your file. It does have a few other things but all preceded with "//" Any other cfg or ini files I can look at? What about FSX.cfg - I have heard this can be deleted and rebuilt by the sim - would that potentially sort this out - if so what would be the down side to doing this though?Could it be an incompatibilty with my graphics card perhaps - GTX295 (dual GPU)? I am using the latest NVidia drivers and have experienced no other issues. Does VCockpit02 look like this?:[VCockpit02]size_mm=1024,1024pixel_size=1024,1024texture=$GaugeTwobackground_color=0,0,0gauge00=j41!pmdg_j41_rmu_1, 0, 0, 393, 500gauge01=j41!pmdg_j41_rmu_2, 393, 0, 393, 500gauge02=PMDG_BAe_JS4100_3!GNSXLS, 1, 508, 512, 408gauge03=j41!pmdg_j41_alt_pic, 896,0,128,508gauge04=rxpWX500!RDR, 532, 528, 472, 331gauge05=j41!pmdg_j41fms_pu_open, 919,458,53,35 FSX.CFG can be deleted. You will not loose your controller setup, but you will have to re-affirm the gauges again and add your own entries if any.

I only have two on my system - the one with the keyboard settings I posted earlier, and the one in the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG_JS4100 folder. You may have a few more if you have configured the radar for other aircraft, but try deleting or renaming any you find other than these two.I cannot imagine that rebuilding the FSX.cfg file will make any difference, but it cannot hurt to try I suppose (although I don't know exactly what you might loose in the process - controller assignments would be lost). I also think that your panel.cfg files are OK - you do get the radar displayed, after all, you just want to get rid of the bezel. December 19, 200916 yr Author I also only appear to have the two instances of the RXPWX500.ini file - one in ProgramData and one in the JS41 airplane folder.Below are straight copy/paste's of what I see in my low def, high def and panel cfg's in the SimObjects/Airplanes/PMDG_JS4100/panel folder in the Section 2:LOW DEF// VC SECTION 2///////////////////////////////////////////////////////[VCockpit02]size_mm=512,512pixel_size=512,512texture=$GaugeTwobackground_color=0,0,0gauge00=j41!pmdg_j41_rmu_1, 0, 0, 197, 250gauge01=j41!pmdg_j41_rmu_2, 197, 0, 197, 250gauge02=PMDG_BAe_JS4100_3!GNSXLS, 1, 254, 256, 204gauge03=j41!pmdg_j41_alt_pic, 448, 0, 64, 254gauge04=rxpWX500!RDR, 266, 264, 236, 166gauge05=j41!pmdg_j41fms_pu_open, 460,229,27,17///////////////////////////////////////////////////////HIGH DEF// VC SECTION 2///////////////////////////////////////////////////////[VCockpit02]size_mm=1024,1024pixel_size=1024,1024texture=$GaugeTwobackground_color=0,0,0gauge00=j41!pmdg_j41_rmu_1, 0, 0, 393, 500gauge01=j41!pmdg_j41_rmu_2, 393, 0, 393, 500gauge02=PMDG_BAe_JS4100_3!GNSXLS, 1, 508, 512, 408gauge03=j41!pmdg_j41_alt_pic, 896,0,128,508gauge04=rxpWX500!RDR, 532, 528, 472, 331gauge05=j41!pmdg_j41fms_pu_open, 919,458,53,35///////////////////////////////////////////////////////PANEL.CFG// VC SECTION 2///////////////////////////////////////////////////////[VCockpit02]size_mm=1024,1024pixel_size=1024,1024texture=$GaugeTwobackground_color=0,0,0gauge00=j41!pmdg_j41_rmu_1, 0, 0, 393, 500gauge01=j41!pmdg_j41_rmu_2, 393, 0, 393, 500gauge02=PMDG_BAe_JS4100_3!GNSXLS, 1, 508, 512, 408gauge03=j41!pmdg_j41_alt_pic, 896,0,128,508gauge04=rxpWX500!RDR, 532, 528, 472, 331gauge05=j41!pmdg_j41fms_pu_open, 919,458,53,35///////////////////////////////////////////////////////Only thinkg perhaps is that there appears to be a large number of spaces between some of the numbers. December 19, 200916 yr Author An update with good news: It's working!!! Although I don't know why, as I never changed anything from yesterday to today?! Perhaps my copy/paste exersize (previous post) did something. I also made a few adjustments to graphics settings to force FSX to update fsx.cfg and ran FSX as Admin although I'm sure I tried that (previously without success).Anyway, for what ever reason, the radar now shows as it should. Thanks to all for your time and kind assistance in helping to resolve this.Cheers, finally off to fly! February 26, 201016 yr This is an interesting thread. So interesting that of course I had to get it. I just installed it and didn't run the configuration and everything worked fine (at least I think it is ;-).Here are some pix to those that may need or want to see them. This is when you first start it up. I kind of liked seeing my name on the screen :(This is what the weather looked like after choosing the Defaut Severe Thunderstorm (Was sad not to see red like the pictures from the site, infact the weather seems much lighter than what I saw outside, but will mess with it later). Here you can see the knob and button layout when you mouse over the screen. This shows the clickable zones. Finally, this is the picture I use to know exactly what I am clicking on as reference.I'll read up on it later, but today/tonight I will be reading and learning the JS41 systems and maybe do the tutorial as well before putting anymore time in this neat little addon. Thanks for posting this! i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
February 26, 201016 yr Dan... stop it... my fingers are twitching to get the CC out of the wallet... Aargh :(I know the weather radar implementation is wrong in FS, but that does look good...Perhaps something to consider when I have money again... just pre-purchased the PNW from FTX along with 1S2...And I wouldn't mind the flight replicas Super Cub pack either...Food, or flying? That is the question...Andrew Andrew Entwistle
February 26, 201016 yr Food, or flying? That is the question...AndrewHaha, yeah I have been asking the same and also other avenues in other types of gaming. Whenever we hit a new Direct X all the game companies toss out there new titles and of course most are hitting close to the same dates. Battlefield bad company 2, Alien vs Predator 3, etc. etc... I also just now picked up Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. It has been hard hitting on the wallet this week for prepurchases that's for sure, hehe.As for the above, I'm still not able to see the red or yellow severity that the companies screenshots show and have done several flights past thunderstorms at FSX max settings for the storm. Infact I am enroute to KJFK right now where I set up another max storm and almost there now with just green speckle on the radar :'(Other than that, it's not bad for $29.99 US ;-) i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
February 26, 201016 yr and almost there now with just green speckle on the radar :'(I agree with an earlier post that wished whoever designed the MSFS wx engine would be fired.. oh wait. Dan Downs KCRP
March 1, 201016 yr Just to make sure no one buys this based on my earlier post and also not to say don't in any way, I just wanted to update this to reiterate my earlier post. After a few days now and many, many flights in several aircraft. I just now for the first time seen the colored zones that their pictures show that one would expect or at least hope to see in such an addon. Here is what I mean (this is not the pic I had available but their own, I had mine on the clipboard and like a moron, copied over it with text just prior to this post :( ):I saw it however with clear weather set as my default flight :( As I mentioned in another post here as well as a couple in their own forum (they probably don't like me much at this point), their weather depiction doesn't seem to attempt to monitor any aspect of what is in FSX and seems to just randomly create it's own. I have read the complete manual and have a medium to strong grasp of Gain and Tilt but as you can see below, it doesn't matter what I do.In this shot, I am in clear skies zoomed in all the way as seen on the outer rings:In this shot, I am in clear skies zoomed out to the max as seen on the outer rings:In this shot, I am in FSX's Thunderstorm conditions theme, and like in the other screenshots have gone completely up and down with the tilt with no change whatsoever:I'm sure you see that in each nothing has changed. Not that it doesn't change however, it definitely does. It just has yet to look like anything remotely close to what is actually outside. For sake of a thorough test, I removed REX2 and also tested with FSX weather & textures since I think that is probably what they go by (textures) but not certain. It is possible also that it just doesn't work right for me (and lots of others on their own site). If in fact it is just randomness I could actually live with that for the small price tag and still think it adds a lot to my overall VC experience in the JS41, but I also wanted to make sure I was not condoning this product from my earlier post for others either ;-)I just think if that's what it is, they should say so and not be misleading. It could get them a bad review :( i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
