December 22, 200916 yr I am tempted to get RC but was wondering if the RC5 upgrade was still being planned? Also do the ATC voices change as you fly into a different region? Anotherwords if I fly from the USA to Europe will the ATC from N.Y. sound and use different phraseology from an ATC in France??? Or do you have to preload your voice sets before each and every flight to a set region?Thanks... Chris Camp
December 22, 200916 yr You have to select voice sets for each flight but they are not region specific, eg if you fly from London Heathrow to Amsterdam, you will get UK controllers all the way across. There are German and Italian accents, but i don't think you can set them to trigger in a certain region, and you may get a German accent at London. If you fly from the USA to the UK, you have to select a voice set. You could mix UK and US controllers. And now the good news. You say you are tempted to go with RC, if you do, once you master it there is no going back to the default ATC.Also there is pre recorded chatter that sounds very realistic. If you fly in the US, you get US chatter same for UK..some French, and Dutch which is region specific. ATC add ons are very difficult to do realistically, because of all the different phrases that have to be pre recorded and then selected by the computer. RC is the best attempt that i have come across. I am confident that you won't regret your purchase.

December 23, 200916 yr Same comment from here, too -- you should do this each and every release.. you can bet the community's looking forward to this one..will be, without any doubt, the most realistic standalone ATC experience EVER. Take time to finish your masterpiece.. I can hardly wait to see the 5-star reviews...What I'm most looking forward to is your implementation of VFR -- maybe a VFR takeoff, fly to my destination, shoot a few instrument approaches, cancel IFR and land. You can bet on me being one of your first customers...
December 26, 200916 yr Because V5 is offering much more versatility and complexity in response to our users and verification of the accuracy of their implementation, jd had to redo a majority of the code involved from the previous versions to implement the new features. Rather than just satisfy a small portion of user requests he decided to implement a greater amount of those requests. Add the requests from our "picky" beta testing group including real world GA and airliner pilots plus current and recently retired ATC staff and you will find a much better fulfilling product that really takes a lot of time to develop and debug.
December 27, 200916 yr Too early yet. The GUIs are not finallized as they change with the feature set. Sounds good. Any chance for some in-sim screenshots?
