New Freeware Dayton Airport KDAY Scenery for FSX

Featured Replies

Hello,Please find below some images from my first scenery project, the Dayton International Airport in Vandalia, Ohio. This is a freeware project and will be released to Avsim and Flightsim hopefully within the week. It is a project that I have had on my computer for several years, and have recently updated it to work in FSX.It features a custom landclass, custom terminal and airport buildings, moving jetways, a custom AFCAD, as well as thousands of objects around the airfield. It has night textures and has been designed with performance in mind. Dayton is a medium size airport for which there is no current scenery package, and like many default airports, the original FSX version looks nothing like the real thing. I am making some final texture adjustments and will be adding the parking garage which is currently being constructed in front of the terminal. I am anticipating a release on or before 01/02/10.Merry Christmas to all and please let me know what you think.

I see we have another talented individual with us. It's looking good.

I shall be looking forward to this! I've recently moved my base of operations from Gary (KGYY) to Cox-Dayton (KDAY) simply because after twelve years at KGYY, I'm getting a bit bored with it! :(

Yes the airport hotel is included, with a basic rendition. Would add a pic, but can't since this is not the first post in the thread.

Great! Thanks !Alain from Montreal

Looks great to me. One thing that struck me was the quality of the grass texture. Have you made your own or are you using one that is available?IAN

Can't take credit for the grass, it's REX. I have not changed any ground textures, and doubt I will be at least with this release. The sky is also REX but that is how I use FSX. There is however a custom landclass file. Thanks for your interest.

Would love to see a finished KDAY with proper gate assignments. I have been trying just a simple modification but the default buildings for the terminal make place the jetways a pain in the rear
