January 20, 201016 yr For some inexplicable reason,I seem to be getting these 2-3 large white squares in the skies at an altitude above what I fly at which is generally around 35k.I have no idea how or where these square patterns have come from.I run 2 GPUs and both have the very latest NVidia drivers,so I know it is not a driver issue.I do run a number of add-on sceneries but these have never caused these square patterns to dislay in the past so I don't think they have anything to do with it.Any ideas/tips appreciatedRICK Rick Almeida
January 21, 201016 yr Author Hi,A screen shot of the issue will be very helpful!Hi JimOoops! As I have never uploaded a screenshot,I ain't sure how this is done,so if you can advise,I'll include the requested screen shot.I have attached it with this reply, but am not sure if that is the way to show a screenshot.ThanksRICK Rick Almeida
January 21, 201016 yr It appears as though you are either missing a cloud texture or you had some sort of scenery that put in clouds (thermals scenery?) and that texture has been lost.Have you installed any new cloud texture sets?Have you installed any sceneries that use thermals and mark them with clouds?

January 21, 201016 yr Author Hi,Are you just using default sky and cloud textures? Hi JimYes,if by default you mean the sky and textures provided by FS9 Rick Almeida
January 21, 201016 yr You might think about downloading and installing - hde_1.0.zip - available here on AVSIM. If your problem is indeed a missing or corrupt cloud texture this will fix/replace it. If it happens that this is not your problem it will still provide a nice improvement. I suggest that if possible make a copy (backup) of your Fs texture folder first, just to be cautious.Hope this helps and best regards,Mel

January 25, 201016 yr I had this "square's" problem but on the ground not the sky. By chance, after hours of head scratching I turned "ground casts shadows" off, and all was back to normal. I know your problem is in a different area but maybe the computer/program doesn't know the difference. Just a million to one outside chance !

January 25, 201016 yr I wonder if you have a corrupted contrail effect, or one that is missing a texture. You can open effect files with Notepad and see what *.bmp files they use.regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
