Need FSX DC-3 Aircraft.cfg file!

Featured Replies

Hi guys! I have a small problem. My FSX Default DC-3 isn't showing up or loading. Last night I got to checking the aircraft.cfg file against the DC-3 folder and all the repaint/texture folders and realized that something got all messed up. I deleted some of the add on textures but my DC-3 still won't load, nor will it show in the aircraft preview window. I thought about inserting the FSX disk and attempting a "repair", but I'm afraid that it would mess up all my other add ons and settings which I had done by Michael Greenblatt from FS-GS, so I dang sure don't want to mess anything up. So, would someone please send me your aircraft.cfg file for the default FSX DC-3, so that I can try to either repair or replace mine. I have to assume that it's the aircraft.cfg file that's messed up and keeping it from previewing and loading. If more convenient, you can send it to me via email at,fair dot winds at yahoo dot com Many thanks in advance, and if someone thinks that the problem is something different than the .cfg file, I'm all ears!!!! LOL

Is your panel folder intact? How about the model folder?I wouldn't think that the cfg file would cause the problems you are seeing. Also check to make sure you don't have the selectyion menu filter set to something that would exclude an old prop model. Paul

A friendly bit of advice -----Never put your e-mail address in this or any forum anywhere. There are automated programs which troll forums looking for valid e-mail addresses which are then passed on to spammers etc..If you must include it - spell it out like this xxxxxxxx at provider dot net (change the x's and the provider name of course)That will not be seen as a "valid" address by the automated programs.

Hi, Sent DC3 cfg file to the address shown. By the way I recommend you go back into your post and edit to remove your email address or you might be spammed to death. If it is too late to edit perhaps consider having a moderator do it for you - just my 2 cents worth of advice.Stephen

Thanks for the advice! I can't seem to get into it now to edit it, but so be it! I was in a rush when I posted that and never even gave it a thought, but I do appreciate the advice!

All folders are intact and there are no filters set. When you click on the change aircraft, "all" of my planes show, but if you select the default DC-3, it won't show up in the preview window nor will it load, so having nothing more than common sense to work with, I had narrowed it down to the config file, but....I could still be wrong! LOL However, I thank you for the input anyway.

Hi, Thanks for the reply and if you will, please post it for me! Have you ever tried to get ahold of Michael other than to just say "Hi"???? He's one busy son of a gun!

Hi Stephen! Well........I was right! LOL My config file was definitely messed up. Now I have it fixed up and the dang plane (none of the default DC-3's)still won't show in the "preview window" after you select the plane and it still won't load, so now, I'm pretty much lost! Lately, I seem to spend a fair amount of time in......lost! God I hate getting old! LOL Anyway, thanks again for the aircraft.cfg file, at least I've got that fixed up now! Appreciate the help bud!

I see this is an old topic but I have the same problem. I accidentally deleted my back up aircraft.cfg file and misplaced something in the file I was editing so it isn't working right. If someone has the original FSX DC-3 Aircraft.cfg file I would appreciate a copy. If you can help I'll PM my email to you.

I don't think I need the whole aircraft.cfg file. I just need the the [fltsim.0 through .5]. I think what I messed up are the order of the textures.

If you are still in need.

Thanks for your help. It didn't work though. I must have screwed something else up. I'll just have to uninstall FSX and re-install it and my addons.Russ
