Did you perform the steps using the config manager in the read me first pdf included with the installation?
Ryan, Is it cpossible to post this pdf like you do your manuals? I'll probably be buying the extension soon, but I would like to know how involved all the installation/config is before I do. (If it's too involved, I'll probably wait till next weekend's snowstorm.)

It's literally clicking 2 "radio buttons" to configure - that's it. Just gotta remember to do it.You will love the aircraft!Cheers!

I'm sure I will. But I was gathering from some part of the thread that you have to edit the config files, which sounded like a pain. But, if it is click and and unclick, I guess I can do that without screwing it up.

Robert - I noticed in the downloads section of your revamped PMDG website that there are no longer preview images. Doesn't bother me, but just out of curiosity was that done to decrease the amount of time it takes to load the page? Not a bad idea if that's the case and if I may say so, the new website looks great - very professional. Insert applause emoticon here.

Yep - nothing more than that. I, too, came across that post mentioning .cfg editing, but I'm pretty sure it was for a particular problem/error.I was able to download, install, click the 747-8 buttons in the Configuration Program (installs an icon right on your desktop) - and fly away! :( Cheers!
Just tried it and Atlas works for me. I get 'PMDG744XF_GE_5YF.exe' when downloaded.
Hi Nathan,You are correct, the file, "'PMDG744XF_GE_5YF.exe' " is the new file. This file is what you get when trying to d/l the old Atlas file for the 747-400 [FSX] If I had the new add-on then it might work for me. I did not notice this as being for the new add-on, when I tried to install it changed my con.fig file. Had to run the repair file. I might have to uninstall, and reinstall the whole PMDG zip file.Jerry

Hi all,I am now able to install the Atlas 747-400 liviery. I suspect that PMDG fixed it.I also bought the 8i extension. It d/l, had installed, with only minor problems. It does look good, frame rates are about the same.Jerry

Regarding the new frame rates, i have an ASUS 1gb RAM graphics card, and my frame rates high at about 14fps, i have a dual core AMD x2 4600+ processor and 3.5gig RAM, and downloaded the latest drivers for my card, but not getting 24FPS, like some other members, can any body please make any suggestions, or how maybe i can configure FSX to increase frame rates?thanks

Is it true that the 747-8 will be installed in the 747-400 aircraft folder instead of having its own folder? Does it mean that every time I have to change aircraft I have to manually edit stuff like shockwave lights and AES profiles?

It does install into the 747 folder. I haven't yet tried, but was going to try creating my own folder and just copying all the default texture folders, model folders, sound, vc, etc... into it and trying from there. I don't see why that wouldn't work since for textures, but there may some issues doing this because of the model coding.Again, I have yet to have time to try such an easy task, but it's worth a shot and should only take a couple minutes to test. The texture fallbacks should still work, but I'm not sure of any specific coding. I haven't even tried the Redux lights yet since I just installed Win 7 and am still installing all of my addons.
