February 2, 201016 yr I really like the features on RC4 (Radar Contact 4). but it was really hard for me to find my way around the airport with no charts or the "pink brick road" as with Microsoft ATC. The problem has now been solved with a program named, DBS Airport GPS. It's a little program (payware, but cheap) that shows you a "magenta colored trail" to and from the active and or gates. It is viewed from above, like the overhead view that you get when you key, Ctrl/S. In fact they just came out with update 1.2 a few days ago that works even better and easier. If you have also have this problem with RC4 , until JD fixes it, this will sove your problem. Buy it, you'll like it. jerrycwo4Goggle it I dont remember the link.
February 2, 201016 yr Moderator Jerry,RCv5 now issues taxiway instructions making taxiing out easier although a map of the airport will still help. I use FS Flight Keeper but the program you recommended will be just as useful. Ray (Cheshire, England). February 2, 201016 yr No and it will be some time before it is. Remember there is a RC Forum further down in the Commercial Section where you can ask questions.I'm aware of the forum but the statement that you made did not clarify.
February 2, 201016 yr I'm aware of the forum but the statement that you made did not clarify.HelloCrystal clear answer from Ray, you asked Is RCv5 out now He answered NOWhat was unclear about that?
February 2, 201016 yr I do reccomend charts. I mean come on in real life, you won't have now yellow brick taxiway to follow would you? Mind you you could follow the "Follow me car" :(
February 2, 201016 yr mad dog: He means that Ray's former post was not clear about whether RC5 was out or not (so not the one about "go read the forum"). So, he asked, got his answer, and posted to say he is aware of the forum, but since Ray made a statement that was a bit strange ("In RC5 now there is this etc"), Carob still asked Ray in this specific thread about it because he found Ray's other post to be unclear. So, he doesn't mean the "no" answer was not clear, it means he found the statement about RC5 to be unclear, which I agree on: Ray's statement was unclear and could be misinterpreted very easily in such a way that one might think RC5 was out already. February 2, 201016 yr Moderator I apologise if my original reply was not clear. I referred to RCv5 in the present tense as I am involved in development and testing but I appreciate it could have been misinterpreted. Lesson learnt. :( Ray (Cheshire, England). February 2, 201016 yr Actually real world I had to fly into at night with GA an unfamiliar large airport. They cranked briefly up the active runway and taxiway lights to the airport FBO parking area. These facilities are not common but can happen :) I do reccomend charts. I mean come on in real life, you won't have now yellow brick taxiway to follow would you? Mind you you could follow the "Follow me car" :(
February 3, 201016 yr Author Sorry, but I DO follow the "little car" in my airports with AES. I LOVE following the little car. jerrycwo4
