March 15, 201016 yr Yesterday I had a long flight from Europe to US (~5500nm) with my PMDG 747(FS9); ASE works nice, no Clouds pups, and nice heavy head winds over Atlantic that changed smoothly and
March 15, 201016 yr This looks to me like ASE is now buggering the pressure altitude/ambient press value rather than the OAT. The pix above show M0.91 at 75 KIAS, with a -13 deg TAT, suggesting to me that the PA spiked way up. The EPRs down at 0.15 with N1 RPM in overspeed are another hint that this is an ambient pressure problem. One would expect to see some increase in TAT while this happens as a result of the Mach number shooting up.Given that ASE uses FSUIPC to inject wx into FS9, setting the "smooth pressure changes" option in the FSUIPC 3 miscellaneous tab "should" (in theory anyway) settle this down enough to keep from getting shot down. Recommend those with repeatable problems give this a try and post results here.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
March 15, 201016 yr ...they can be sure that I cannot leave ASE and will use it...,Well, personally I'm not too sure about that. I've been using ActiveSky for about 3 years or so, and I've never had any problems with it up until now. I've already searched for another weather addon, but there aren't that many choices available. I already tried REX, but that program takes way too long to setup a flight with a flightplan and inject the textures in FS9. I might even go back to default real world weather if the problem isn't solved. I'm just not planning on doing every flight twice because of this "weather problem".I just don't understand why this problem suddenly arises when ActiveSky has been on the market for so many years. And now all of a sudden we have problems with airplanes showing eratic behaviour (i.e. vertical speeds of 8,000 ft p/m, overspeed red blocks overlapping "underspeed" red blocks, loss of altitude, etc.).If this is all due to advanced interpolation, please implement a feature to turn if off if desired. If I recall correctly, in ActiveSky 6.5 it was possible to turn off advanced interpolation.Jon
March 16, 201016 yr Today I was on a flight from WARR-VTBS, using the following flightplan:LASEM.W16 CUCUT.SPIKO.A576S SABIL.A576 TI.VTK30.VMR.B469 VPK.M751 REGOS.W19 POLAKAt waypoint SPIKO the well-known problem of eratic behaviour of the PMDG 737 was there again. I made a screenshot of the METAR (Image 1), which clearly shows ADVANCED INTERPOLATION.Also I've uploaded a video to my own website where you can see what I mean by eratic behaviour. This video was made just before waypoint SPIKO, and shows the start of this eratic behaviour. http://www.e-planes.com/pmdg737.aviEventually the airplane starts descending at -8,000ft p/m with overspeed red blocks overlapping "underspeed" red blocks. You can see this situation in the second screenshot I made (Image 2).My advice would be: drop the ADVANCED INTERPOLATION, because it doesn't work. As I'm pretty fed up with having to redo every flight only to get the same problem over and over again because of ActiveSky, I have decided to go back to the Real World Weather option that's built into FS9 and drop ActiveSky until other users in this forum are reporting that the problem is really fixed when and if a servicepack, "new" version or whatever is released.Jon
March 16, 201016 yr Jon,Is Fog Layer Generation On or Off in your ASE?Also, just to add as an FYI, there has been no consideration to remove advanced interpolation or somehow program it as an option.
March 16, 201016 yr Fog Layer Generation was Off in this flight.I already read somewhere else in this forum to turn this option off, but that doesn't help either.I'm sure that considering all the posts in this forum on the topic of overspeed, TAT, etc., you must know by now that ADVANCED INTERPOLATION is somehow causing these problems. Then I don't understand why it is not considered programming it as an option.Have you seen my video? Can you explain what is causing this eratic behaviour?I've been a happy user of ActiveSky for about 3 years up until now. Never had a problem with it. But now I have to redo every flight several times. That's just not going to work. So, I won't touch ActiveSky again until the problem is really fixed. And that is really too bad.Jon
March 18, 201016 yr Hello,it seems that the route from the Philippines to Jakarta is a no-go route. With ASA I tried it three times and the pressure always dropped down, so I had to stop ASA and solved the flights starting good old ASV6.5. Tonight I tried the flight with ASE and sadly to say, it ended up the same. Low-Pressure: 24,29 inches!and the Interpolation details:and here is the result with AV6.5:I use FS9.1 and the latest FSUIPC version, this time with CS 757. It was the first time, I had this problem with ASE.My best wishesHans-Christian
March 18, 201016 yr I just had exactly the same pressure problem over the Indian Ocean. Advanced interpolation had 4 stations with QNHs about 1011, but this was all interpreted as Q729... which made my aircraft fall out of the sky. Back to ASV6.5 again. My bet is that your calculation to weight QNH by distance-to-station is incorrect.Bryn Streaming at twitch.tv/brynmwr
March 18, 201016 yr That SW quad QNH in the interpolation details posted in Hans-Christian's example looks odd..."Q.1011" None of the others have a decimal point. Is that being read as QNH 0.1011? Putting that into the interpolation calculation isn't bound to be a good thing.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case

March 26, 201016 yr Is this goin' to be fixed?Yesterday, PMDG 747, Singapore to Sidney, and somewhere between Jakarta and Bali...invisible enemy strikes. :( First i was doin' like M95 to M83 in a few seconds, than from FL350 i was on FL450 also in blink of an eye... :( My Specification: I CAN RUN FSX IN MAX SETTINGS....i don't care about dell, bell, amd, intel, 60000 wats power supply or alien made graphic card....
March 28, 201016 yr I reported this problem long time ago and I was told this is realistic, that the TAT could jump like this.LOL!!!
April 27, 201016 yr Just experienced this over OPGD. I was flying along fine and then Airspeed dropped to 150kts (from 278), and altitude jumped from 37000 cruise to 58320. I stalled and nothing I do can fix it. I had to turn off ASE.I just installed the Service Pack too. Howard H. "You must be the change you wish to see in the world" -Mahatma Gandhi
