Active camera and Maddog FScrew.

Featured Replies

Im not sure why but after the first minute of starting FScrew from the main panel active camera stops working compleaty in all views. Its happening right after the co pilot says hello.Although ive only had it 1 day and am still learning i am using the PMDG 737 voice version also and there is no problem there.I lose all functions of active cam including outside views and none if its setting have any affect. I know active cam is an old program and not really supported anymore so im wondering if there might be something i can do to get round it.Any ideas?

This doesn't seem to be an FS2Crew problem. A friend of mine and I have had exactly the same problem with ActiveCamera, and I just got FS2Crew today, so it wasn't working before the FS2Crew installation either.I wonder what in the Maddog could be inhibiting it.

i can now say after some testing it happens exactly when the guy gives me the Speed ref chart. the moment it pops up on the screen active cam stops working. It wont stop me flying as its really awsome having a first officer, its just a bit slower moving about the cockpit. Ive tried the Flight1 Camera Utility (freeware) but it does not work well with the maddog because you cant use the middle mouse button to on toggle switches or buttons that aew set by turning them.Windows Vista (eew)FS93 Core athlon CPUGforce 9500GT

Your guess is as good as mine...Wish I could give you a better answer.Best,

This is a problem with the Maddog's panel.cfg and ActiveCamera. And since FS2Crew rewrites the panel.cfg during install, you need to make the necessary modification to the panel.vc file. So, go to \\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\MADDOG2008\Panel and then open panel.vc using Wordpad. Then, in every instance, change "Zorder=0" to "//Zorder=0". (I use Wordpad's "Replace" feature to ensure I capture every instance.)Run the Maddog Manager & Setup program. On the Setup tab, make sure you have VC selected, and then press OK.ActiveCamera should now work in the Maddog's VC.James

I too was frustrated when I first got the Maddog and ActiveCamera didn't work. No ActiveCamera=useless VC IMHO. Glad I could help. James
