Maybe i wasn't clear enough, what i am asking is some kind of comparison between the Victory and the Mustang in terms of fun of flying..I am not in a position to pay for the Concorde just yet but i could shell out the $30 bucks for the Epic with favorable review :( Alain from Montreal

I had thought about the Victory (I have the Epic LT which I love), but with the demise of Epic there is only one privately owned Victory (registered E-AB) flying outside of Epic's demonstrator model. It's probably unlikely that in the real world, we'll ever see the skies full of Epic Victorys flying around. Eclipse managed to get more of their VLJ in the air--at least a couple of hundred, before they had declared bankruptcy. I rarely get payware that doesn't have a counterpart in the real world. I love Lionheart's Epic LT, of which there are dozens flying in the real world. -John

Good point John. Didn't know they went under. Nice looking small jet aircraft but it's a competitive world. I got it immediately upon release. It's fun to fly and nicely modeled with a lot of extra options, like adding a co-pilot. FPS appear excellent too. I will use it exclusively to fly around in my new PNW scenery. I'll get to see things faster than in my Piper...Best regards,Jim

Firehawk,My system is identical to yours with the exception of I am running windows XP 32 bit. I have the Epic LT and FPS are terrible. How does the Victory compare to the LT in terms of FPS? Thanks.

Just made a quick flight over Vancouver after installing the patch for PNW/Vancouver + and it is behaving nicely, FPS were quite low over Vancouver city and came back up over the mountains but didn't time to go further or experiment with an original fsx plane, will kepp you guys posted !Alain from Montreal

The Mustang has a built from scratch, fully funcatinal Garmin GPS 1000 system - the screenshots for the Victory look like a hybrid version of the default MS GPS. A non-starter for me.

There is no "fully" functional G1000 for any version of FS...Mostly functional, yes. Fully functional, not even close...Most simmers have no idea at all of the actual depth and capabilities of the default GPS system, never mind third-party adaptations or emulations.

Right. The default GPS has everything you really need imho... All the extra's that for instance a RXP GNS offers, are totally wasted on me (I had one in FS9 and never used the extra options! And it wasn't until I bought FSX that I discovered the default GPS had everything I really needed...! Heck, the default GPS can use FSX flightplans and the RXP one can't!)But let's get back OT. :( I own the Quest Kodiak: is the G1000 in the Epic Victory the exact same or does it have other options?

I did not use it enough yet to compare it with the Mustang's but i knew that for $35 you can't expect the same functionality :( I also own the Kodiak so i will be able to compare oranges to oranges Alain from Montreal

Not good at all around Vancover but I have the "recommended" settings for the PNW scenery and I also have Vancover Plus w/patch and I'm getting between 7-20 FPS. It's relatively smooth though and not a slide show when I'm in the single digits. I get much better frames around Seattle or Friday's Harbor. The Epic has a lot of eye-candy and appears to be a frame rate hog but I don't worry about FPS when I'm flying. If it's relatively smooth, I'm okay with that. If it freezes or becomes a slide show, I'm not okay. 64 bit OS's manage memory much better and I highly recommend it for anyone using FSX. Best regards,Jim

I will accept "mostly functional" Bill :( And I have the lack of hair to prove it! And whatever is left is grey!I have said it a lot of times, if expectations are fully functional anything, we all may as well be building real units for real money.I am sure you would agree. Besides, most people simply wont use all real funct... ever. I don't even do it in real world flying! By the way, the Victory looks very nice. Good job guys.Jim

Both Flight1's and Mindstar's G1000's have definitely put the "Bam!" in the recipie, that's a fact! I like both very, very much......but, like yourself, I don't regularly use more than maybe 30-50% of the features that are emulated. Yes, it would be wonderful to have charts available, but -oh my!- How large the database would be!...not to mention the cost for keeping everything current.
