April 9, 201016 yr It seems the JS41 has a full 5xx page manuel and the others just have a couple of guides am I missing somthing? Or did they not make manuels for the others just short little guides? A Walker
April 9, 201016 yr It seems the JS41 has a full 5xx page manuel and the others just have a couple of guides am I missing somthing? Or did they not make manuels for the others just short little guides?Of course there are manuals. Divided in multiple parts from systems overview to fmc specific etc.All in your PMDG folder and in your start menu under PMDG as well.Karsten
April 9, 201016 yr Author Ya I see that now. If I wanted to print these out so I had a paper manuel, should I print it all whats the most important? Lol its going to be like 2k pages for it and the 747. A Walker

Lol its going to be like 2k pages for it and the 747.Do the outprint when you have time, paper and ink enough. Start with this instead for the 747:http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=281753 (A thread about pdf-Tutorial, video Tutorial)For MD11 there are 2 Tutorial (one basic and one advanced) You can get them at PMDGs site./ Leffe Leif A Mikkelsen **********************
April 9, 201016 yr Author Thanks got it all printed out and am doing the first tutorial on the md-11 these PMDG sims are unreal. I typed into the FMC the VOR freq and now the plane is following that instead of the flight plan? How do you tell A/P to start following the flight plan again? A Walker
April 9, 201016 yr I don't recall the tutorial asking for a VOR freq., when you don't know what the boxes are doing you should always look at the FMA and see what mode everything is in.Normal navigation, using the flightplan route in the FMS, does not ever require putting a frequency into anything. All of that is in the navdata, used by the FMS. Dan Downs KCRP
April 10, 201016 yr Author Copy. Just wondered how to get it back on flight plan if I am vectored for traffic or somthing of that nature. A Walker
April 10, 201016 yr You can either go direct to next fix in flight plan or fly a heading to intercept the flight plan course. Your choice unless you are working with ATC, and even then they will normally clear you to 'resume own navigation.' Dan Downs KCRP
April 11, 201016 yr Author I guess I am terrible at this lol. I have tried this probly ten times and either the aircraft follows the vor or it just keeps making clearing turns constantly left right left right. Guide says to press nav 400ft rdr alt, them prof at 1500 rdr alt. I am doing both but it never hooks up and when I press prof all of the A/P displays go to ---- ---- on the glareshield is this right? April 12, 201016 yr The MD-11 wont follow (track) a VOR radial unless you entered the freq into the nav/rad CDU page along with a radial to follow then press the LSK 2L key for "VOR arm" along with having autoflight set (and below FL180), so unless you're doing all that it entering the VOR freq shouldn't make you're AC do anything.Make sure your flight plan is entered correctly into the FMC, press "autoflight" and "nav" to for the plane to track the lateral path, combine it with "FMS SPD" and "profile" (a vertical nav) for the full autoflight. April 12, 201016 yr Author I wonder if somthing isnt messed with the install.. I just tried flying a direct from kmci to kden and the nav auto flight is flying 351... I got the profile and climb thrust all set, maybe I can make a video of what im missing. I tried hitting TRK and it turns to 283 but that still not right. A Walker
April 12, 201016 yr Throw up some screenies of your PFD (primary flight display), ND (nav display) and FMC/CDU flight plan page and we should be able to see what is going on. Jay Vorkapic
April 14, 201016 yr Author I finally got everything to work and all I can say is wow!!! Thanks so much PMDG for such an amazing sim! Autoland is unreal from the spoilers to the brakes all being correct down to what deploys when mains are down vs nose! Keep up the good work! Have to ask what is FLEX? A Walker

Autoland is unreal from the spoilers to the brakes all being correct down to what deploys when mains are down vs nose! Keep up the good work! Have to ask what is FLEX?Nice to hear, what was the answer to your problem for others to future reference?FLEX is a assumed temperature thrust reduction, a higher assumed flex temp will cause the computer to calculate a lower N1 limit assuming it is hotter than it really is, hence lower the T/O available.Boeing won't allow thier flex tables to be published publically so a member put a lot of work making and testing their own, available herehttp://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtop...t&p=1567623 Jay Vorkapic
