April 25, 201016 yr Yes, it is a fantastic addon for FS and I will say most people do love it. I know it's a bit over kill but i usually let FS2Crew dictate what addon aircraft i have. If there isn't one or nothing planned for it, i don't get it. (The exception being GA which is sometimes flown single pilot anyway, or Concorde because it's just too cool.) I like FS2Crew because it (usually) prevents you from forgetting something like bringing the gear up during a go around. I am embarrassed to say I've done this a few times in real life. That's what the second guy up front is for! And that's what FS2Crew provides.I will say this though. There are a lot of procedures to learn and you have to memorize when to execute them. It's like flying the real thing only you have someone helping you this time. Ryan Gamurot
April 25, 201016 yr If you want to fly your airliner exactly to 'proper' procedures, then FS2Crew stuff will float your boat. It's a bit on rails for some tastes, but there's no denying that FS2Crew's stuff is among the top notch of add-ons for FS, Although obviously, some procedures differ for some airlines, so in the odd instance it is the general way things are done and not necessarily exactly how your fave airline might do things.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 26, 201016 yr I have the FS2Crew version for LevelD767, PMDG MD11, PMDG737 and Maddog 2008 and can definitely recommend them! Do bear in mind that there has been a paradigm shift at FS2crew since all new FS2Crew products are voice commanded, ie the interaction with FS2Crew is done by talking into your microphone and FS2Crew uses the speech recognition capability of Windows to interpret your speech and convert them into commands that FS2Crew reacts to.The versions you are looking are not voice commanded, instead you press a key on your keyboard or joystick to go through the checklist. I guess some prefer voice commanded and some using keyboard, but personally I think using voice is simply amazing if you manage to get the computer to understand you! :DPersonally I would love Bryan at FS2Crew to create voice commanded versions of some of the products he has already released, but at least at one point he indicated that was to not be (although he did release also a voice commanded version for PMDG737).This video that I did, although being very far from perfect, should give you an idea of how voice commanded FS2Crew works Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------

April 26, 201016 yr Both the old non-voice and new voice versions of FS2Crew are excellent. However, I'm not sure I can go back to aircraft without the voice recognition (the MD-11 has been my one exception). Voice doesn't change the checklists that much for me--whether I push a button or read a verbatim response isn't too different. However, with voice recognition now being use you can command the first office to change heading/speed/altitude/FD modes on the MCP. So much more realistic and so much more reasonable to fly a solid departure or approach if you can stay hands-on while the FO makes the necessary changes to the MCP and some of the various other systems. The voice recognition has also made things a lot more flexible. The old version used to on approach have a scripted deployment of flaps/gear every time you pushed the button. For the MD-11 I believe the order was slats, dial-a-flap, flaps 28, gear, flaps 35. You couldn't deviate from this--there rarely was a reason, but if you found one you just went back to deploying flaps and gear on your own. With the new voice recognition, you just tell the FO what level of flaps you want whenever you want and deploying the gear can be done at any interval from before deploying any flaps to after deploying all flaps. Much more flexible. Eric Szczesniak
April 27, 201016 yr Im hoping to get the MD-11 in a couple of weeks and i would love FS2CREW. Sounds sick! But the voice reconition sounds even better and from the above posts it dosent have voice reconition. I hope its added in the near future so i can buy it.Maybe its time to head over to the FS2CREW forum and start begging! :(

It's still an excellent product though. The only currently available VoiceCommander editions are for the 737 (Default, PMDG and Wilco) and the FlyTheMaddog 2008. The PMDG JS41 is coming very soon (initially said to be end of April, not sure if that's still the schedule), but not yet there.I'd love to see the PMDG MD-11, 747X and LDS 767 eventually get the voice features.
