Ultimate TrafficII performance impact

Featured Replies

In a number of threads concerning AI, I've seen posts saying UT II has little to no performance impact for them. I'm seeing about a 10 FPS hit on the ground at major airports with 50% airliner traffic. Here are my UT settings. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I wouldn't bother with the FSP counter anymore. How does it feel to you? Smooth? Stutters? Although I haven't seen many threads claiming no performance impact, I would think more people would base "impact" on how it feels rather than the FPS counter.10 FPS doesn't sound that extreme. Where were you before UT2? 40fps? If so, going down to 30 wouldn't seem like a leap? I am in the 40's+ in the air. I can be in the high teens at major airports with 100% but I only know that if I look at the FPS counter. If I don't it feels like 25+.

Mike these are the settings I use, although when flying airliners I usually keep GA traffic either off or at a small percentage and Airline traffic at 100%, and using these settings I see usually no more than about a 3 to 5 FPS hit when traffic is on, as opposed to off.Target FSX frame rate: OFFMax Altitute ground a/c visible: 9000 feet - from that altitude I dont need to see them parked on on the groundDistance to spawn ground a/c: 25 NMMax a/c to spawn: 100 acft - read this link about UT2's heartbeat and how a/c spawn. No need to try to spawn 224 at once, inhoTry these settings and see if it helps you any.

My hit is only about 2 or 3 FPS sitting at KPHX with UT2 on vs. off. No idea why it would be a 10FPS hit for you.

I was getting a pretty big fps hit with UT2 as well. I'd had it since in came out and suffered thru the glitches and patches but recently switched to MyTrafficX and couldnt be happier. The military aircraft is a nice bonus. :(

Not sure Valcor? I didn't know I was refering to a link at all. I was just posting the settings I use for the original poster to try.

I think he his talking about you mentioning a link about aircraft spawn"Max a/c to spawn: 100 acft - read this link about UT2's heartbeat and how a/c spawn. No need to try to spawn 224 at once, inho"
