The LDS767: Old but still a winner

Featured Replies

I'm not quite sure what you mean. You probably misunderstood me: I meant that the performance of the Maddog 2008, on my system, is way below the performance of the LDS767.@ flyinpilot212121: don't be too bothered with the topic going a bit off course, it's no big point :( I have to agree with you though: Overall, the LDS767 strikes me as the only plane in my hangar (that is, of the complex ones I have) that always works right. No problems, ever; it just works.
Im sorry, i meant are you far off on frames between your leveld and the leonardo maddog??Thanks

It depends on the situation, I guess. When flying at FL350 FPS are good in both addons, but when I land at Aerosoft MAP Amsterdam, The LDS gets sufficiently higher FPS for me to see it as having better performance. I think it's a difference of 4-5 FPS. Do note that I have a 2 year old laptop as my simming computer and I have FPS locked at 20 FPS, so every decrease in FPS, however small, may give the stutters that we all hate so much.

LEVEL-D has been the "always loved" and "always joy to fly" add-on. No FS installation goes without LevelD-767 (Besides DF727 and PMDG747)

Waiting for the 64-bit PSION Flightsim for ZX-Spectrum ////

Some of us have been around a long time and have seen our game evolve to where it is today.I originaly wanted Dream Fleet 737.I waited and waited for the release, but finally got PIC767.The rest is history.I did get DF737 eventually, but my system could not handle it.I had no problems with PIC767,and that is why i stayed with it and eventually moved to Level-D 767.I do also own DF737,PSS757,WILCO Citation X,PMDG 737/6/7/8/9 which all came AFTER PIC767.There are a few more out there that i dont have so i cant say much about them.PMDG737,DF737 are nice.I am not to happy with PSS757 and somewhat happy with the Citation X.There are GREAT add ons/payware out there and i do own a few of them,BUT it was PIC767 that started it, and the rest is history.I am gtreatfull to all those people that come up with these great products.Nebojsa

I think the Dreamfleet 737 was originally made for 2k, then sliced and diced for 2k2, and frankensteined into fs9 if so desired. I think I read somewhere, that someone had managed to even get it into X, but I doubt very little of the original would of made it in.I wish they were still around, the DF737 was like the LevelD, had it's own personality, and was a pleasure to drive.

Thank you so much for the kind words. There is a sort of magic in what Wade, Laurent, Pedro and Eric created with the 767. There is an elegance and a simplicity to the final product. I am constantly amazed at the little touches and how sound a frame rates performer it is. Even with the FSX version.I will pass along the link to the team...

Much appreciated :( I wanted to create this thread primarily to let them know, once again, how we feel about that old but great LDS767. And what you say is true. It is exactly it, what I have been trying to find words for but couldn't. Now I thank you too, for these words:"There is an elegance and a simplicity to the final product."It is indeed just that which makes the LDS767 such a "Queen in the Sky" for me and why it will always be that way, however great other addons may be. I think the slogan of Philips is a slogan which suits the LDS767 as no other addon product available: "Sense and Simplicity". And now that I know the LDS767 team will read this: Thank you guys!
