July 19, 201015 yr Does this security programme run ok with FSX?Should I turn off 'real-time rpotection' in Security essentials? Are there any other settings I should change?I use it and usually shut it off completely. Just go to RUN>services.msc and shut it down. If you are uncomfortable with that than you can indeed shut off real-time protection. I also set up exceptions for simconnect and FSX.I've watched task manager and leaving it on, even with real-time protection off, it will use a bit of cpu every once in a while--not sure if it's noticeable in the sim.
July 19, 201015 yr i have had the same results as Craig, it's even caught some things my AV didn't see.Kyle
July 19, 201015 yr I have used it for some time, don't cut anything off and have noticed almost no impact on FSX. Found it to be a great program.BobDTW
July 19, 201015 yr Commercial Member I've used it since it came out, great app. Just exclude your FSX folder from the real time scanning engine via the options. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
July 19, 201015 yr I also use it with success. The only time it bogs my system down is when it downloads and installs a new version or the new data files... (you'll see the blue arrow animation in the system tray)I'll have to look for that exclude option thanks! | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
July 20, 201015 yr Just in case you need any more opinions, it really is great. I don't ever turn it off, and I've seen no impact on FSX at all. Curt Branch
