July 21, 201015 yr Hi,Question: If I want to do a very long Flight lets say 5 hours in real time, could you uses simulation speed T4 with RC4 active?Regards,Raul

Any big turns you should stick to x2. Don't forget to hand comms over to the co-pilot otherwise it will all end in tears. Finally, set the "pause at distance" option to a suitable value. For FL300 and above I suggest 120-170 miles. Ray (Cheshire, England). July 23, 201015 yr Simbol, the problem I find in going to 4X(you can go faster if you like) is not so much what Ray says, although that can be an issue I agree,it is when you get a frequency change or other communication form ATC close to a waypoint.Even if the co-pilot is handling the comms it may well result in you not having your passing of the waypoint registered and thus getting the "fly heading xxx until suitable..." etc.In other words you are not credited with passing your waypoint.RC doesn't like that. You get told off!I personally cope with that by simply requesting a "direct to" the next waypoint.Or slow down to 1x when you approach a waypoint.(Assuming you are still there and not having a cuppa with the ladies in the back)
August 8, 201015 yr Yes, keep in mind these suggests and your flights will be way faster :) Specs: Windows 7 64bit / Intel Core i5-3550 @3.30 GHz / 8.00 Gb RAM / ATI Radeon HD 7800 2Gb
August 8, 201015 yr My personal recommendation is to never increase the simulation speed. If you dont want to fly 5 hours, then dont fly a 5 hour flight. My 2 cents. My 2 cents.you'll be ok at 2x, if the rc copilot has the comms, and there aren't any serious enroute zig zagsjd JD Read my blog
August 11, 201015 yr I sometimes find that even at normal speed if the controller is busy with other aircraft when you are at a waypoint you do not get a credit when passing it.It is rare I admit, but it does happen occasionally. When it happened the other day I asked for a "direct to" the next waypoint and was refused "due traffic".It took a while to unravel that one as I kept getting the "fly heading xxx"instruction.
August 12, 201015 yr True Ron but now and then it gets confused and the last time it took 3 goes to sort it.The controller was pretty quick to step in and issue the "fly heading"instruction so that we were going round in circles, literally as well as verbally!Maybe it needs more of a delay but I'm no expert on programmingIt's only a minor blip as far as I'm concerned.
August 12, 201015 yr More of a delay in RC5. This was commented on by beta testers when using complex aircraft without a co-pilot and goes along with the fly the aircraft then communicate priorities. August 21, 201015 yr I find no problem with the accelleration feature of FSX while flying with RC, if you are simming with no waypoints, like on GPS over the Atlantic. I fly my Airbus from KCLT to EDDF quite often. I know that the bus drivers get to take turns napping going over the Atlantic (boring time). After leaving my last land report at Gander (last waypoint), (I have a save for "just in case") I put my finger on the "Pause" button after setting 16x for 1,700 nm until I get to 200 miles from Shannon (next waypoint), with no problems and save again at Shannon, where the wife hollers "come to bed!" (and she doesn't even use an Irish accent). The only thing to watch for is wind shear. When we are passengers on that route for real, she sleeps on my shoulder the entire 8.5 hours, while I fly the route on my lappy <grin> I could use a "start in the air" feature with RC, like the one using the FSX "Map" feature without RC and pushing your aircraft to France and filing an IFR flight plan EDDF to EDDF, but accelleration works just fine in RC in this case.
