August 9, 201015 yr After upgrading to build 585, I have horrible visibility after about 30min of flying. It doesn't matter if I'm at 4ft or 40,000ft, I get around 8 miles of visibility. when build572 was installed, I had unlimited visibility above 10,000ft. i tried to revert back to build 572, but it had no effect. The only way to clear the visibility issue is to clear all weather through FSUIPC, but the issue returns after the next ASE update. Any thoughts? This is what it looks like when the issue is happeningAfter all weather is cleared via FSUIPCThanksMatt Matt L.
August 9, 201015 yr Hi,Same too me this upgrade doesn't work with FS9 the visibility stay very low at high altitude, the last build worked perfectly for me and now I have to use FSUIPC to control the visibility..........Thanks,Christian

I tried to just download the build 572 update, but it didn't do squat. Matt L.

Going to have to uninstall and revert to B572 as well!-P Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
August 9, 201015 yr Hi All,I can't reproduce this after 2 days of flying. Can you give me some things to try? Is it that the ground visibility value is following you up to your flight level? Because for FSX, that is the issue that this update fixes. I just need to know so that if we fixed this for one version, that we haven't broken it for the other version. What is your Maximum Upper Visibility set to in ASE?Only a re-install can get you back to B572. Just trying to install SP1 will not do it.
August 9, 201015 yr Author Maximum upper limit visibility is set to 200 miles. I have tried tinkering with all of the options in both ASE and FSUIPC, and nothing seems to make a difference. The only option that will temporarily fix the issue (until the next weather update) is the "clear all weather" option within FSUIPC.It's not that the ground visibility will "follow" me up to flight level...it is almost like, when ASE updates to the newest ground station's visibility, it will affect the visibility no matter what altitude I'm at. Funny thing is that, if the current ground station visibility is 1sm, it will show 1sm at FL380...the next ground station will show 10sm visibility, yet all visibility will stay at 1sm. Also, the issue only appears after the 1st or 2nd update when airborne. Here are 2 more shots that are half fs9 and half ASE options menuhaze issue at FL380after clearing all weather through FSUIPCThis is what happened after ASE updated the weather after I cleared it. Hi Cohort,I am one of the guys that had a visibility issue that when using visibility smoothing and DWC I would get ground visibility all the up through cruise altitude. This update fixed this issue for me. This was specific with FSX as far as I know. Try your flight without visibility smoothing checked and see what happens. As Jim mentioned, this may be an update only for FSX. Phil
August 10, 201015 yr I'm of the same opinion as Phil as I only use ASE with FSX and the last update fixed the visibility problem for me. Sorry.
August 10, 201015 yr Hi,Yes FSUIPC set to defaut and weather settings off. with FS9. Last build 572 worked well with the visibility.........Thanks,Christian
August 10, 201015 yr Hi Jim,This issue is just in FS9.I have both versions installed and with FSX no problems however with FS9 the black screen appears .Sometimes at the start of a flight and on other occasions part way through a flight. The actual weather depiction is not accurate too.Norman Bowman Norman Bowman
August 10, 201015 yr Author I am happy that the update fixed the issues that some FSX users were having, but in the process, it broke something regarding FS9. And in all fairness, there was nothing in any documentation or on the website that said that the update was for FSX users only.Jim, Up until I started having visibility issues with build 585, FSUIPC was at default settings. Since I have been getting the issue, I have been tinkering with the FSUIPC visibility settings...with no success. I went ahead and reverted back to build 572 until we can figure this out.-Matt Matt L.
August 10, 201015 yr Hi All,There was no need to mark this as an FSX only SP because we were not aware that it would cause this in FS9. Now I have used FS9 for 3 days and still can't reproduce this, though I am going to keep trying. I do understand that some of you are experiencing this and we will get to the bottom of this.
August 10, 201015 yr OK, the programming team is aware of the situation and we will work on a fix. Right now, to roll back to B572 you will need to use a restore point or do a fresh install of B572. I can directly help you do this through e-mail if you would need to go through a long re-install process to get to this point.
