August 12, 201015 yr I've mentioned this before a few times because the raindrop effect is not desired by me. I think I was told this could be addressed in a patch. I know others wanted this effect, but please do provide a way to stop it from occurring, besides asking the user to stay out of bad whether :( It's a really nice plane except for that, and the missing gauge pop ups as the VC is just plain too small to read--just two gauges pop ups would solve that one.Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. August 12, 201015 yr Hi Noel, Full names to posts required in this forum please. The service pack has been mentioned in many other threads and the last thing mentioned from PMDG is that it is in the works but won't be out until after the 737NGX release. I would try to find the other post I'm referring to and just keep an eye on it. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier

August 13, 201015 yr Wow, such atitude. I doubt OK is any kind of answer that would suffice, besides that I was polite so enough said, grow up and I recommend moving your name to the top of all that ramble in your sig or be prepared for others to comment in the future. Now since I realise the type of person I'm talking to perhaps I'll a new answer to the original question that most would have said anyway:Being that this question has been posted 3 times in the last couple weeks in new threads, I strongly urge you to learn to use the search function... i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier

But I see your first priority is to make sure the poster put the requisite full name in the right place rather than provide some simple help. Take a look in the mirror at the guy with the attitude. The raindrops issue is not owned by everyone I realise, so this is why the post was made. I was fishing both for the raindrops issue being addressed and also if the patch happened already or is announced. I spend plenty of time searching threads and often conclude the one morsel sought after is either missing or buried deep in a slew of replies most of which are irrelevant to the information being sought. You know what I mean, I'm sure. Often, the value of this format is that one can put the very specific question out and get the latest specific summation. August 13, 201015 yr Hi Noel,I see that you are campaigning again to get rid of your raindrops.Simmers here used a lot of time to 'strong-arm' PMDG into letting in raindrops as a last minute feature.A config switch of some kind would be fine I guess, but as there are other and better issues on the table I really do not hope PMDG make this one a priority.
August 13, 201015 yr HI,After many in the flightsim community have been requesting for some time that third party aircraft include raindrops we finally get them. My view, and a lot of others, would like to see the rain drops stay. I think, for me, it adds another dimension of fun the the experience.CaptMacdonmcdaniel
August 13, 201015 yr It's not about removing them, but about making it possible to disable them, at least I think so. Personally I like them.Cheers.

I would try to find the other post I'm referring to and just keep an eye on it.While I agree that rain drop effect is not a real issue, and in fact I'd say it's much preferred by me as a realism thing, I must say that it's not nice from PMDG to clearly state that they prioritize their income over their customer base. I'm not saying that they shouldn't care about income, but J41 is fairly new product and it needs fixes. And when company is saying, that it wont be out before the next product is out, it's angers me (I'm sure not just me). If PMDG treats customers like that, then why would anyone buy NGX? To get the same support? So that there's no patch until another product is out? It's just plain silly.Noel, to get rid of rain drops, use the following link to download new textures. NoRain texturesOnce you download it, backup all VCRain*.dds files in your FSX installation folder under SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG_JS4100\Texture.VC\.Then simply extract NoRain.zip archive into that folder. Make sure to not extract them to additional NoRain subfolder. At the end you should have all the VCRain*.dds files replaced with new ones, much smaller, because they are empty textures.Cheers Tomasz Fiszer -- IFIYGD
August 14, 201015 yr Author It's not about removing them, but about making it possible to disable them, at least I think so. Personally I like them.Cheers. Thank you for restating the same position I have. I conveyed this a while ago to the developer and they seemed at least open to make it a configuration option. It's all I ask. The animation on them is the only motion that is not fluid in the entire simulation for me. Everything else is, so they do seem a real detriment to my eyes. Really, you mean you might not want this to be an option for people who don't prefer to use it? That is a really weird posture to take. You trying to earn loyalty points with these folks? August 15, 201015 yr Commercial Member Gents-There will be an SP for the PMDG JS4100.Currently this patch is of a lower development priority than getting the NGX into beta- thus it is not currently receiving any work.I would anticipate that sometime after the NGX goes into beta- we'll release the SP for the JS4100. (Yes- I'm repeating myself- but you know how it goes.... Say it two different ways and more people will understand what you said the first time!)One of the things we are going to do is to expand the 3D disabling options available to you in the configuration manager- so you will be able to disable the raindrops once that update appears...Hope that helps!
