Hong Kong city scenery

Featured Replies

Hey does anyone know a good city scenery for Hong Kong? Is Fly Tampa's or 9dragons rendition of the city better? Which one can be used with imaginesim or thomas kwong's VHHH?Or is there any scenery that depicts just the city itself not the airports. I have autogen for Hong Kong but sometimes it's not very real.Any suggestions much appreciated. Thanks

Hi Nadan,You can have a read of Mark Kolo's review of FlyTampa Kai Tak. As far as compitability goes, I believe FlyTampa VHHX and Imagesim's VHHH are compitable, but let someone else confirm that.Hope this helped!

FlyTampa is definitely better than 9Dragons. FlyTampa's is more accurate and contains no texture glitches. 9Dragon's certainly is a very good scenery, but you notice the quality difference of the sceneries pretty well. Honestly, I'm not at all sure 9Dragons models the airport, that I can't remember. I'd say it does, but somebody would have to confirm it. Flytampa's Kai Tak certainly is well worth the money, though! Both sceneries are sort of compatible with the VHHH scenery. You'll have to deactive some files here and there to make it fully compatible. if you search around the forum you'll find threads relating to that. I also recommend going over the Kai Tak subfourm on the FlyTampa forum.

Hey, Nandan!9Dragons is freeware, so you'll get the city at no cost. Simply try, nothing wrong will happen.FlyTampa is excellent and 100% compatible with IS VHHH, but will take you some money, especially if you don't care about flying into VHHX.There is also a freeware addon of Hong Kong city buildings somewhere in the library but they are quite generic and won't make a lot of expression.

Fly Tampa's is absolutely AMAZING. :( As simply as I can say it: Get it!

I would second that view - Fly Tampa's Hong Kong scenery is definitely the best and I have used it to replace the 9 Dragons scenery. The 9 Dragons version, while good, certainly caused some problems with the textures of the surrounding water and as far as I can remember did not model Kai Tak Airport. I also confirm that ImagineSim VHHH is compatible with the Fly Tampa scenery.Bill

Doubly confirmed -- it's not only compatible, it's an enhancement!

Just to correct some statements here - the 9Dragons scenery DOES model Kai Tak (VHHX) airport in excellent detail. For a freeware product, it is a fabulous product, though I'm sure the FlyTampa is better.(After all, it's newer and it's done by a consummate professional whose work we all admire). But the guys who did the 9Dragons work deserve kudos too - when they released it, it was really cutting edge - freeware or not.

Thanks everybody, so IS VHHH and Fly Tampa scenery, sweet! Does anyone have instructions on how to install the 2 together? Or do we just install both and untick something in the FS2004 > Settings > Addon Scenery page (in FS2004). Is it something like that or is there deleting to do?Will try and search for other threads concerning this. Thanks again.
