Difference between Justflight A320 and Aerosoft A320?

Featured Replies

Just wondering what the difference is between Just Flights and Aerosofts A320's? Best I can tell is that they are "lite" offerings, with one costing about a third less. Thanks!

Hi m8,,,i bought the just flight airbus on day of release,,,long story short i had money saved with em so only cost me £2.50.Visually its nice and it flys nice,,,not had any probs with it BUT it is lite which u already mention,,,it uses FSX autopilot i.e click on the + or - to increase or decrease the speed/heading/alt,,and alot of the switches although they are there visually they dont work.were as i believe the aerosoft airbus is more advanced than that,,,and to call it lite isnt doing it justice (lite maybe compared to pmdg BUT aerosoft arnt hiding anything theyve been open and honest about the systems modelled)...u only have to read the threads on here and look at the comments,,,or better still have a look over at aerosofts siteAndrew

Thanks for the help. I wasn't sure how "lite" the Just Flight was compared to the Aerosoft. I am debating on getting the Airbus or Wilco's E Series.

It all depends on how deep you want to go with the systems. I have the Just Flight A320 and I think all the primary buttons and switches work. The JF version is for sure "Lite" 'er than the Aerosoft and not as sharp in textures and details. But at a much reduced cost. I just flew the A320 JF tutorial flight from London Heathrow to Zurich and throughly enjoyed every minute of it. The MCDU treatment is very different with these two developer versions. The JF version has checklists, specific configurations that are clickable from the MCDU and such built into the MCDU and neither have SID/STARs but, I used the Garmin vectors and approaches and they work just fine. If you just want to have fun flying an Airbus the Just Flight will do you just fine as will the Aerosoft. If you want a little more (maybe more than a little) systems details and higher grade textures inside and out, then I would say go with the Aerosoft version. One point to consider is that Aerosoft will most likely bring a more advanced version to market fairly soon and I seriously doubt Just Flight will ever have anything more advanced than the existing Lite Jetliner. I bought the JF version as a pre-release so it cost about $12 or so, about the same as a good burger, fries and coke.RayM

The Wilco Ejets will keep you busy and there is a lot to learn. Aerosoft is pretty simple. If those are your choices you might be thinking about how complex you want to to. Ejets are pretty complex. (Also like nothing you've ever seen before, so they're a little harder to learn, but fun.)

Maybe the Just Flight is the more honest product, inexpensive and less detailed. The Aerosoft is expensive and a little more detailed.Read their forums. Every time a costumer e. g. asks why the AP or that fly by wire isn't working as expected, Aerosoft comes out with "We mainly used the standard fsx stuff to get it done".So where's the big development towards an enhanced Airbus experience? Optics are the only thing so far. The rest is mostly done like in the standard plane coming from Microsoft while some bugs seemed to be added. If you fly the standard Airbus together with a freeware FMC like vasFMC, you'll pay nothing and can save money to buy those nice E-Jets or the ERJs for example. You'll also be able to fly every online ATC route desired, you'll get lots of freeware repaints and modifications if you like and the only thing you'll miss is the waiting time for new Aerosoft bugfixes. Great deal!

Thanks for all the good advice. I ended getting the Aerosoft product, even though the Just Flight model looked just as appealing. I know they are both lite-- but I welcome that in a way. I have all the PMDG planes as well as the Lago Maddog, so I get my realism when I need it. For now, I think I'll be happy with something I can jump into between meetings and work.

Excellent choice. I'm sure you will enjoy it.RayM

Well, its pretty simple. First and furthermost, the JF A320 Jetliner is considered as an F-Lite product, although it does not involve CLS in the making, which means it is intended for the lower intermediates. I also noticed that the cockpit systems do look more like the ones on the default Airbus. Nonetheless, it is one of the best buys of the year anyways.
