I've finally switched to using VC mode

I was asked about sound not being used in my video. It was said "No wonder the fps was adequate". Just to point out, I did in fact have my sound on and sound settings are at the highest, however no sound was heard because my headphones were plugged in and thats the only reason. :PI may someday spend more time on a video series of something edjucational but need to wait until I get my better camera back. Here is a sound clip if you want to hear some basics of what I hear :(.http://www.dantrix.net/Files/Sounds/turbine777.mp3

I meant to post these the other night with the sound file...Just a couple screens of different VC's at an angle. Of course none of which do the products real justice but make great wallpaper. especially for dark rooms/offices like mine.PMDG MD-115040x1050 or 1920x400PMDG JS415040x1050 or 1920x400Real Air Duke B605040x1050 or 1920x400

What clinched it for me when I switched was when I discovered that holding the space bar down, then moving the mouse and scrolling the mouse wheel manipulated the view. I never knew this before. Now moving around the VC for me is as close to having a TrackIR as I can get.Without this very simple way of moving the view around, I'd agree with all those 2D-panel-or-nothing guys. The way mine is set up is that on my main monitor it's always the VC. Then I set up the secondary 2D panels on the left monitor (overhead, throttle, comms).
If you get a gaming mouse or one with a few more buttons than the normal ( i use logitech, you can program the buttons to do what u want) and program a button to act as the space bar, its now a one touch leaving your left hand free ((OR use the joystick assuming you have one )) i use Saitek x52 and you can program one of the yoke buttons as your space button and on the throttle there is a mouse feature near the thumb, making it possible to never take your hands off the controls.Just some alternate tipsenjoyTim SteeleEDITAll though I have to say the mouse wheel on the throttle kinda sucks....its really hard to get used to.....good talkTim Steele

Well, I uploaded a craptastic video. The quality with the camera I had to use (key word had) is just awful,,, truly horrendous. To top it off youtube made it much worse but oh well. It wasn't meant to show off graphics although it would have been nice to have it a little better than it is. This video wasn't meant for this post but I did try to touch base on what I mentioned and give a couple brief demonstrations.Enjoy (haha if possible)

Edit: Just noticed this statement on the youtube page: "This video is still being processed. Video quality may improve once processing is complete".So there is hope yet! Although minimal...
Do you have a youtube channel??And on another note....your rig is F'in sick.......good talkTim Steele

Hi Tim, I don't normally do the youtube thing. I have one old video up on there and a couple seal diving vids for my dive shop to show peops. The video above was just something to answer a few peoples questions here and there and was actually mainly for some idiot in the Adobe forum saying you couldn't do what I do with dual+ screens.Anywho, I imagine I have a channel or something like that but don't get into it. People can down rate me all day and I smile :)I did start an MD-11 tutorial a long time ago that I will still someday hopefully find the time to finish, everything is done FRAPS wise, I just need to edit the 180gb of video haha.Glad you liked the rig, she's not bad :(

Track IR profiles don't need to be made for individual aircraft like something like the EZCA addon would. ... It's a lot easier than it might sound. I did read someone say that someone from PMDG mentioned they were going to do a EZCA profile, now that I would want and look forward to :)
Hi Dan!<sigh> Reading this thread has brought me to the point where I'm seriously thinking of joining the TIR+EZCA club. Doing some preliminary reading on both TIR and EZCA, though, inclines me to the belief that whereas a Track-IR profile such as Bojote's will be fine for most aircraft, profiles for EZCA are something else again. Am I right in thinking that it installs cameras for only the default aircraft, so the list is initially empty if you're flying PMDG? :(

That rings a bell with me, too. Was it Markus, in the MD-11 forum? (I've just had a quick look, but couldn't find the post I had in mind).[Later edit] It was on the MD-11 forum, in reply to the "Will the PMDG team will release a custom EZCA profile in future?" topic back on August 9th. Hmm. If Markus hasn't cracked it in over two months, maybe I'm right to be worried? :( But I'm getting the distinct feeling that tried and tested EZCA camera profiles for PMDG aircraft are likely to be in high demand, soon. :( (Incidentally, I second your thoughts about the EZCA forum — it's a very different experience to being here, that's for sure!).Cheers,Brian

Hi Tristan, Yes you could but it would require you to get the Dualhead2Go or a triplehead2go. I would still get the triplehead2go though since it too can do two screens but will already bought when and if you decide to get another monitor. Research it a bit though because the monitors should be the exact same model. Also, doing two monitors can get on your nerves bug time. Not in getting it set up, but the fact that you now have the bezel right down the center,,, yuck. I had it this way for about a month and drove me crazy,, not so much simming but everything else, including when you open some addons or menu options in FS they center, which means half on one screen half on the other.Hope this helps,

Thanks Dan I will definately research into this. Does expanding FSX into three monitors only work through the Fullscreen (ALT + Enter) Or can it be done in windowed mode with, as you suggested, the triplehead 2 go because I like to open other windows whislt flying such as charts, skype, facebook, etc etc... Hope this is possible :) Thanks for the help :)Tristan

Yeppers, absolutely. You can use windowed mode fine. The beauty of triplehead2go is that all of the monitors will be tied in as one. Check out the video again, you'll see I have one system clock (not 3 like you would normally have with 3 screens) and I thought I did run it in windowed mode for a short time in the video as well.
