October 16, 201015 yr I just purchased the Matrox TripleHead2Go and am testing it on my system with FSX:Using 3 20inch LCD monitors.Processor: Core i5 750Memory: 4GB RAMVideo Card: GTS-450/with 1GB video memory.Visually, everything is fine and my fps are quite good also. The problem I'm having (and it's worse when I'm flying in photoreal scenery areas) is that all 3 monitors will frequently go black for a few seconds and I'll see the "Loading Complete" message with the black bar at 100 percent in the center monitor. This happens when I step on the brakes, or start to bank the aircraft, or even just attempting to land at an airport in a photoreal area. When this occurs, it lasts 1 or 2 seconds, and then returns back to the normal 3-screen out-the-cockpit view. But any subsequent action, banking the plane etc. will cause the "Loading Complete" screen to reappear. It's really annoying.I'm guessing this is a memory issue, and I'm thinking that perhaps adding more main memory (2 more GBs for a total of 6 GB) would help. Or is there a "buffer" setting in the fsx.cfg file that I could change? Anyone using TH2G w/FSX have any advice? Thanks.
October 16, 201015 yr Hey, I'm new to TripleHead2go actually just yesterday... I had the same issue I think. Download the drivers from the Matrox website for your OS and use Matrox Power Desk to set up your screens. This fixed my issue. I'm still tweaking and report back if I find anything else... Good luck and hope this helps...! 5Take Care, Will Clark My computer: Intel 14900K, Motherboard ROR Maximus Z790 Formula, PSU Dark Power 1600, Ram DDR5 (7200) Vengeance 32GB CL38, ASUS 4090, Keyboard Logitech ASUS, Mouse ROCCAT LEADR Wireless, Corsair M.2 SSD 4TB x2, Headset Astro A50 Wireless, Microphone Elgato Wave 3, Stream Deck Elgato XL, GoXLR, Loopdeck Live, Chair Steelcase Gesture with Headrest, Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL ROG White, Custom Built water cooling, Ek Lian li xl distro plate, Fittings EK & Bitspower, Monitor LG C1 48 OLED, Desk Speakers Audio Engine A5+ White.
October 17, 201015 yr Author After spending a few hours trying to come up with the answer to my problem, I found a solution that will (mostly) resolve it. It turns out (and this may only be a problem with Windows 7) that when using TH2G w/FSX, anytime a text message of any type appears on the screen, the screens goes black for a few seconds. For example, if you apply the brakes, or pause the sim, or stall, or overspeed etc.,or do anything that creates a message on the screen, all the screens will immediately black out a few moments. The answer is to go into the fsx.cfg file and change the "Info" lines from True to False. For example, "InfoBrakeEnable=False" instead of the default setting, which is "True".The only problem I still have is that I can't use Radar Contact without the blackout problem occurring. Each time RC responds to an input, it needs to update itself on the screen in order to list different possible selections, and when this happens, the screens go black. So until I can figure out if there is a possible solution, I'll have to use the default FS ATC, which doesn't exhibit this problem, as long as you keep the dialogue window on the screen, while in-flight. Well, at least I now know that this was not caused by a memory problem or lack of sufficient memory, which is what I thought it may have been. Hey, I'm new to TripleHead2go actually just yesterday... I did, in fact, download the Windows 7 drivers yesterday from the Matrox site and used the Power Desk etc. to set everything up, but I still had the problem (see my 2nd post above). If there is an alternate solution to the way I resolved it, please let me know as I would really like to be able to use Radar Contact rather than the default ATC.Bob

October 17, 201015 yr WillIf you don't mind me asking, why are you using triplehead 2 Go, I noticed in your sig you have 2 gtx 480s, why not use the Nvidia Surround, it would do the same thing without having to use TH2Go.
October 17, 201015 yr This sounds very much like the good old vsync bug under Windows 7, although I think that only happened to ATI users so it may be another issue though. It may be worth to check out http://forum.avsim.net/topic/283143-fsx-vsync-fix/page__hl__bojote+vsync just in case. Using Nvidia surround mode instead of triplehead2go would still be superior in every way.
October 17, 201015 yr Bob, Yeah I wanted to try Triplehead2go to see if it fixed a couple of issues with the drivers. I actually got triplehead2go from a friend for free so I decided to give it a go. Still playing with my system which is a recent build. I'm off to bed more testing tomorrow, let me know if you hear anything back... Have a great night...! October 17, 201015 yr Hi,If your using 2 480GTX boards in your system, why are you using a TH2Go?. Get rid of the TH2Go and use your two 480's, you'll be able to increase your screen resolution beyond what the TH2Go is capable of achieving.I have a TH2Go Digital that I no longer use (anyone looking to purchase one :( used less than three weeks) and now use my two 480 boards, the graphic resolution is outstanding (5760x1200x32) with these two boards. TH2Go is a thing of the past. Ebay it now. Keith Sandford.
October 17, 201015 yr ...just to supply an answer to the OP's OP - I've been running digital TH2G with 3 19" monitors at 3840 x 1024 for a number of years now, originally full screen with XP/32 and now Win7/64: I've used the 9800GTX, and now the ATI 5870, and neither had this issue - except when I ran ATI Tools in an attempt to get rid of the vSync issue with the ATI card. I'm using an Nvidia GTS-450, in full-screen mode, and having the screen blackout issue when any text appears on the screen. When you apply brakes, or pause the sim, are you getting the red-lettered messages that appear on the screen? I'm wondering if my problem is with my particular card (GTS-450) vs. the ATI card. Should I add the "ForceFullScreenVSync=1" line to my fsx.cfg file? Thanks.BobUpdate: I added the ForceFullScreenVSync=1 line to the [Graphics] section of my fsx.cfg file but, alas, this had no effect. The battle continues.
October 17, 201015 yr Please visit the widescreen gaming forum here http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=59 there are many FSX users over there that will solve your problem. Good bunch of guys. Keith Sandford.
October 17, 201015 yr Author Problem Solved. (Now I can use Radar Contact w/FSX and TH2G).Uncheck anti-aliasing in the sim and use the driver to control anti-aliasing. No more screen blackouts when text appears on the screen, when using FSX w/TripleHead2GoI don't know if this had a positive effect also, but I kept this line in the [Graphics] section of the fsx.cfg file:ForceFullScreenVSync=1Hope this helps anyone else who was experiencing this problem.Bob

A question for you - I understand about the higher resolution gains but are you also seeing performance gains with NVidia Surround over TH2Go, or is performance about equal? OK by me if so - it's just one more thing to consider. Thanks - am interested to hear what those who've made the move have to say.Best,Alan Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
