November 7, 201015 yr I suggest going back to topic and I really follow Daryl's thinking with the commercial guys to better stay appropriate.
November 7, 201015 yr Commercial Member Alex,I appreciate your response. The problem with any WXR in MSFS is that (as you said) "It shows exact MSFS weather (whatever it is)" . MSFS weather - whatever it is - has some serious flaws. This is one of the reasons Level-D (I won't speak for other devs) does not implement WXR: to add WXR to display weather that is not well modelled and not accurate.... just doesn't make sense when there are many aircraft systems that can be modelled accurately.Anyway, glad to see you out in the forums, Alex. November 7, 201015 yr This is turning into a great and informative thread. Thanks Level-D and CS for explaining more about why features may or may not be modeled - interesting for me.I may (as a result of this thread) take another look at the CS 707. The ONLY factor that's put me off so far is the price.Without doubt, Captain Sim have recently responded to customer feedback in all areas, including support. Really good to see as I feel they have the capacity to create great aircraft.Much as I love my LDS 767, I find myself spending more and more time in the CS 767 cockpit. As previously stated by many, not because it's better, but because it's different. It just so happens that the 'bit' that CS do EXTREMELY well - the visuals and sounds, is also the 'bit' that's very important to me. I don't get too concerened about systems accuaracy, so I don't notice if thing are not spot-on.The fact that I now know the 707 CAN be started by 'Ctrl-E' will actually tempt me toward the aircraft. i don't always have time to run through all the correct proceedures. So, it really is.... 'horses for courses' I think. November 7, 201015 yr The 707 got a great 3d model, textures and cockpit, with very low impact on FPS. But I personally regret my investment in this plane. It's far from the level of complexity of a PMDG or a MADDOG and the thrill is missing unlike A2A addon.I bought it in a candid way, with the Pro Line placement and the price tag, I thought I would be much more.BenjaminPS : Does anyone know if 300C, VC137 and E-3A will be available later for free ?
November 7, 201015 yr I have the Legendary 707 from years ago and it wasn't very in depth if I remember correctly. Is the overhead and flight engineers panel fully functional? Also, what about the performance numbers in flight ie fuel flows, epr's etc? Thanks in advance.DavidThe FS9 Legendary 707 was the last full price product that I bought from Captain Sim and afterwards wowed to never buy anything from them again until they improved their customer support and completed their products. I am very pleased to see that Captain Sim appears to now have a goal of improving both. I did buy the FSX 727 Captain (version 2.4) during one of their sales and found that it needs a lot of tweaking to get some of the instruments and performance parameters correct. So as David, the thread originator asked, does the 707 require the same tweaking to get the 707 to fly by the numbers? Specifically:1) Is the EPR accurately modeled?2) Does the altimeter read 1000 feet off when the aircraft is at 1000 altitude increments?3) Are DME readings available for both VORs?4) Is their a total air temperature gauge?5) Does the trim adjustment operate at a reasonable rate?6) Does the aircraft fly by the published performance numbers? These are the items that bothered me on the 727 Captain that were obvious coming from the FS9 Dreamfleet 727. For me the systems depth is adequate, my dissappointment is having to tweak the systems that are provided. Having bought the 727 on sale, I can't complain. However, the 707 at $70 is another matter. I would like to buy the 707 Captain. Is this aircraft finished or does it need tweaking like the 727 Captain? Chock did an excellent review on the 727 Captain. Does anyone know of any in depth reviews like this on the 707 Captain?Appreciate any feedback on this,Ted [email protected] ghz, Noctua C12P CPU air cooler, Asus Z77, 2 x 4gb DDR3 Corsair 2200 mhz cl 9, EVGA 1080ti, Sony 55" 900E TV 3840 x 2160, Windows 7-64, FSX, P3dv3, P3dv4
November 8, 201015 yr Daryl, thank you for your response, MSFS weather - whatever it is - has some serious flaws. Totally agree. Unfortunately MSFS isn't perfect in many aspects. We (all developers) have no choice but to deal with whatever we've got inside the magic box called MSFS :( As for back to topic, everyone is invited to CS forums. Good place to start is any CooIP "bug list" topic showing the current condition of our products. This is a new format (forum + CS ticket system) introduced by CooIP (thanks again!) For example this one is on the 707: http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1287684648Please note these topic do not list product's strengths (that's why they called bug lists :) and might make an impression that the 707 is all about bugs and flaws. So it's for serious readers only :(
