Well, I did get it and it's certainly very impressive. It does impact my system quite heavily though, which is unfortunate as I'm already struggling with it.

How do I get rid of the static airplanes at airports? There are some at KSEA and I can't seem to get rid of them

I don't think that was an intention. I don't think the AI planes are draining the CPU. I think its all the buildings and dock area.Ray

WOW....that 003 Beta Patch has really made a big, big difference in my Northwest flying experience. My frames are up at least by 5 to 7 FPS, and I'm totally impressed with the improvement it has made. If you don't have it, get it and you shouldn't be sorry.Stan

From what I can gather, Stan, their intent was to increase the smoothness of the PNW experience: the additional frames - I have them too - is a bonus. I cannot believe how smooth - right on top of KSEA in the BirdDog, doing 360's, 54 MyTrafficX aircraft on the ground, 44% AI, 44% GA and 12% road, and hauling between 19 and 36 frames - but really smooth. North of Seattle it gets up between 30 and 67. I down-clocked to 4 gig a couple of days ago and I'm getting better than when it was running at 4.2! This is quite an incredible improvement.I can only guess that - again - we have ******* Altuve to thank for this, as he had found an issue with the streetlamps that was causing poor performance when using OrbX PNW, and so he took it to John V. - and we have to thank John V. for his action in implementing this improvement!

Agreed, although I'm barely seeing 15-20 fps in the big cities, I notice an extremely smooth experience now after the beta patch. Just did a fresh install last night. More flying this weekend!

Incorrect. Nothing to do with *******. That patch was released quite some months ago and was simply the result of further internal performance tuning on our part.We are looking into the street lamps issue and will be trying some alternative models and effects. If these prove to increase performance we'll roll it out in a patch.

Cheers,

Stan, What kind of frame rates are you getting on that machine of yours?

Suggest downloading the free Demo and testing it on your system..

My guess is yes..  BTW, reduce the settings so you get 20+ fps..

15+ is not good enough IMHO.

Bert

Again, try it and see.. there is no way of predicting these things..
