November 25, 201015 yr Hello Captains!I know it is not really a pmdg issue, but in indirect way it is. (because i only fly with the Queen until ngx comes)I started to use *******'s fsx.cfg tweaks and it requires an external fps limiter. So i downloaded Fps Limiter 0.2. Very good program, but i could not make it run in directX 10 preview mode, only in DirectX9My question would be that can i use this limiter and if yes how in directX10 mode?If not can someone recommend a good external frame limiter which works in directX10 mode?Any help would be appreciatedLaszlo Meszaros Laszlo Meszaros
November 25, 201015 yr I recommend to not run FSX in DX10 preview mode. Scott Kalin VATSIM #1125397 - KPSP Palm Springs International AirportSpace Shuttle (SSMS2007) http://www.space-shu....com/index.htmlOrbiter 2010P1 http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/
November 25, 201015 yr No, this limiter doesn't work in DX10 mode and as fas as I know this is the only external FPS limiter for FSX. You could, however, PM bojote for more information. He will respond. :( With kind regards, Kevin Schepers

November 25, 201015 yr http://www.divshare.com/download/13324437-7fdI uploaded it myself there, so it's 100% safe. The thing is that it's not in the original website anymore.
November 26, 201015 yr Author I have downloaded from herehttp://rapidshare.com/#!download|487l33|160642187|FPS_Limiter_0.2.rar|166Its working and safe Laszlo Meszaros
November 26, 201015 yr Commercial Member The FPS limiter hooks DirectX 9 dlls specifically to do what it does - it can't possibly work with DX10, a whole separate one would have to be made for DX10.I've actually never been able to even get it working with DX9 on my system, it fails to run... anyone seen that in Win7 x64? I assumed it had something to do with that... Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com

I assumed it had something to do with that...I just got it working before on WIN 7 64bit. I'm still in the process of testing. Basically the error was I had to extract the FPS_Limiter file I downloaded for the BAT to work. And when you extract make sure that your BAT file and FPS_Limiter .exe are in the same folder. If you can't even create a BAT file then uncheck .JAR in WINRAR options-settings-integration
November 26, 201015 yr It works fine for me under W7 x64 too. Does it throw an error message or something Ryan? The only thing I can think of is updating java, which you've probably already done
November 26, 201015 yr Author For me it is working properly under win7 64 bit, indeed i had to uncheck jar in winrar. Just clicked on the Fps limiter jar file, created a bat file after that and thats all. For me everything was in the same directory, although i made a shortcut from the bat file to the desktop (that is also working). Laszlo Meszaros
November 26, 201015 yr Ryan,You have to turn off UAC (...at least in my system, W7 64 bit). Edmundo Azevedo

November 26, 201015 yr What exactly is the benefit of FPS limiter? Flight Sim lets you choose the max fps rate, so what benefits does FPS limiter have?Paul GugliottaI'm no expert, but from what I gather from reading *******' post and actually using the external limiter I can briefly summarize. For the majority of FSX users, having your internal FSX FPS set to unlimited tends to give an extra 2 - 7 FPS (obviously results will vary user to user). There are some drawbacks however, such as FPS spikes, especially in graphically taxing areas. With an external limiter, you still gain the benefit of the extra FPS, but with out the spikes. In my experience before the FPS limiter and with most sliders at max (except for road traffic), I could only get 8 - 11 FPS in the busiest of airports. Now with the external limiter, I see a constant 15 - 18. Dylan Charles "The aircraft G-limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular airplane. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no G-limits."
November 26, 201015 yr Author Definitely UACThat was the first thing what i turned off after installing win7 Laszlo Meszaros
