December 13, 201015 yr You might remember that threads I had made about New York: I wanted an ultimate NYC experience, and eventually I made myself one. I wanted it for two reasons: 1) good memories from a NYC holiday in May; 2) I have FlyTampa's Boston. So basically, besides wanting to fly to NYC from Europe, I wanted to be able to fly between Boston and NYC. However, when I had NYC, I actually wanted more airports in America. I mean, the JFK-BOS flight is nice, but it's incredibly short. So, I also got ORD (FSDT), and I was very happy with it. So, right now, I have these airports in America: - FSDT JFK - FSDT ORD- Imaginesim EWR - FlyTampa BOS That's great, but I would want more. More particularly, I want Washington, since that's another American city I have too. Imaginesim, however, seems to be the only one that has a Washington Dulles scenery that is compatible with AES. So, I'll probably be buying that scenery. Problem is, I do not want to spend the 20 euros for that scenery that is being asked, sine I'm not sure that's actually worh it. However, 12,95, when buying a tri-pack, seems to be more reasonable. And so I was wondering about two other airports. Here's what I chose: - LGA (La Guardia - it completes my NYC) - ATL (It looks a like a very nice airport and it's not too far away from either JFK or ORD) And now I come here, to ask what you guys think. Is it worth buying this tri-pack? I mainly ask because I'm aware of FlyTampa's Buffalo and FSDT's other American offerings. Problem is, they are darn expensive, much more expensive than the IS airports in a tri-pack. Still, I want to know your opinions, since I did buy their KEWR and was not really blown away by it (although ATL, LGA and IAD by IS look much better!) I would like to add that I do not want to fly long haul flights in America. If they are within a two-hour flight radius, that's good. December 13, 201015 yr You picked Imagine's worst airport with KEWR, IMHO. It is not indicative of their later airports and indeed their earlier ones (although they are a bit dated now). KIAD, KLGA, and KATL are all fine airports, if you can get them in some kind of combo deal, I don't think you would regret it. Mike...

But well, it was the only KEWR out there with AES, and to complete NYC I had to get it I do not regret buying KEWR though, not by any means, but it made me worried of their other airports. Thanks for your input!More feedback is of course still welcome! With that being said KEWR is usually one leg of almost every flight I do in FS! I like the EU-US routes as well and in the real world I only ever fly Continental (United) out of Newark so that is what I simulate in FS as well... I typically fly in the sim the flight I am doing that week in real life and Newark is always my home or destination. So although it is not their best work it has not kept me from using it for YEARS now and it certainly filled a gap for me as FS would have never been the same without Newark!-PaulPS... if you go to You-Tube I think I have some landing/takeoff and taxi vids at KEWR as I just started uploading some of my FS vids this week. (got extra time on my hands as I am getting scheduled for a double hip replacement AND my back is out at the same time!!! Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
December 13, 201015 yr Commercial Member Since you seem to want to add a few more airports of our Eastern Seaboard, may I suggest the superb Sunskyjet KPHL (for the city of Philidelphia), by Shez and Ian. December 13, 201015 yr Hi Tharlni, Yeah - as mentioned - SunSkyJet KPHL is one of the best airports you'll ever find... And it's FREE - but - if you like it - please donate to motivate more projects... Cloud9 has KDCA for sale via the FSDreamteam site - free timed demo... I like it... Can't help thinking of that Air Florida flight that dumped into the river - every time I take off from there in the winter... You can't go wrong with FlightZones KPVD either... I just recently landed there at night and realized they have moving people inside the terminals... Very cool... I made the three for a discounted price deal from ImagineSim as well and I'm pretty happy with my choices... I picked up KLGA - KCLT - and - TJSJ... I'm a USAir fan - so - between KLGA - KBOS - KPHL - and - KCLT I can recreate many real world flights... I love flying my Mad Dog into KLGA... All the ImaginSim stuff I have is pretty good... I had heard some poor comments on KEWR - so I never considered that one... If you go to the ImagineSim site - I believe they also have demo's on all thier products - so you can try before you buy...Regards,Scott
December 13, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the comments so far!Regarding SunSkyJet KPHL: I had it installed in my previous FS9 installation, but since it's so close to NYC, I never really seriously considered installing it again. Part of the problem is that there is no AES, but if it does get AES support, I might reconsider. SunSkyJet's upcoming Detroit will have a very good chance of getting installed, however.Regarding KDCA: Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think I'll go for that one. Part of the KIAD attraction is that KLM flies there, beside the fact that I have ben in Washington myself once.Regarding KPVD: Now this looks very ncie actually and good also really enhance my approach into KJFK. Alas, it seems the developer has closed down and I won't be getting any support for it. So while I might have seriously considered purchasing it, I'm not even sure it can still be purchased.Regarding IS airports: I think that settles it. I will buy the three airports I selected. I thank you all for your comments! December 13, 201015 yr Just wanted to comment on ewr it is a very accurate scenery almost everything is there they did a really nice job with it! believe me I know I have been too ewr some many times. it was my former hometown airport. the problem with kewr is its age the ground work detail is using old techniques and the texture quality could be better I'm surprised they have never made a v2 version of it by now. so it will hit frame rates really bad unless your cpu is fast. But in a way I would prefer fsdreamteam to make ewr and leave imaginesim too fill the rest of the world but ewr I find a very important airport next to jfk. my biggest problem with imaginesim has been there view of having to buy both versions separately the fs9 and fsx thats allot of money, and one policy that I very much hate. They just do not look good. It's bland. if these would have been better, than the entire airport would have been better. Instead, the taxiways, runways and apron all are the same, and the colors they used do not look very real to me. They might be accurate, but it doesn't look the way you'd see it in reality... I have trouble describing the problem exactly, but you immediately see the difference when you look at KIAD< for example. There they used photoreal ground textures, and it's simply much, much better looking. if only they had done that with KEWR, I think it would have ben as good as KIAD, KATL and KLGA.Yes, I have bought them. All three. I initially bought them for KLGA, to complete NYC, but now that I have all three, it's surprisingly KATL that I favor most, with KIAD coming in closely on a second place. So no, it's not FT quality, but since I bought each one for 15 euros (thanks to the multi-pack deal), the value is awesome. I'm very happy with my purchase. December 14, 201015 yr They are definitely not in the same league as FlyTampa or FS Dreamteam (technically or artistically), especially now that they charge for each FS version. I've found that of the combo airports (2 for 1 price), they just remove what they don't know how to make work in FSX.

I don't know about you, but they tend to forget older airports at times, such as these. Or just another case of forgetting to update a website (how hard could that be?)....:blink:as for KCLT.....I'll look and see this for Christmas. Dave.
