Try pressing the F1 first to make sure throttles are closed, then activate the reverse pitch with F2.

Also if I remember correctly you must have the spoilers armed prior to takeoff.

Spoilers will not deploy if You land with with speed to much below Vref, so check your speed at landing and when wheels touch the ground set power to reverse.

Spoilers should be armed prior to takeoff in case of rejected takeoff, you should disarm them after takeoff (for safety reasons) and arm once again prior to landing.

Can you use the spoilers to slow the aircraft, because it looks like it is a take off and landing function only. Also what do the Gust Lock do? Thank you Bob Savo. Sorry I'm new to turbo props.

No, they cannot be deployed in flight. The two main criteria for their deployment is wheels on the ground and reverse thrust. There are other necessities, but those are the main ones. Gust locks are intended to hold control surfaces still when parked in windy conditions. Start locks hold the propeller blades in place so that the engine can start properly.

Well, I can't get the spoilers to animate, no matter what I do. The green light appears on the panel when I switch to reverse propellor pitch (which presumably means that the spoilers have activated), but I can't see them in F11 view. It would also be nice to see touchdown smoke effects.... :(

For some reason when I land, even when I get off the runway and disarm the spoilers, they still stay up. But the green light goes out. What's that about?

Try throttle sling to IDLE first(or press F1).

Check you have advanced animations enabled in FSX.

Paul Smith.

Advanced animations are enabled. I have tried pressing F1 to get the engines down to idel, but that didn't work. However, I will need to check if I haven't deactivated the F1 key command, or changed it to something else!
