Reality XP Flight Instruments

Featured Replies

I love this plane so far. My only quibble is figuring out how to install Reality XP flight instruments. There are no entries that I can find for individual instruments (ADI, HSI, et c.). They appear to be part of a single gauge or something like that. I use FS Panel Studio to swap out instruments, but with no instrument entries to swap from the original panel, I have no idea how to change them. Mike Gutierrez. North Hollywood, California.

It can't be done. The gauges in question are 3D gauges built into the model.
It's a pity because quite frankly the 3D gauges look awful. Compared the the Realair Duke, they're cartoonish.David

Agreed, I wish I could retrofit my rxp gauges for a few of the provided gauges. The Airspeed indicator can't be adjusted for altitude temperature, for example. I find the altimeter a bit hard to read, and the HSI adjustment course/heading knobs are hard to dial in exact numbers. And, none of them can be popped up.Jason

Also agree, The airspeed indicator can not be read at 40 zoom. I really don't see why some people have gotten excited over so called 3d gauges when now your stuck with what you got. One thing I can say is Milviz did a better job with the clarity of their 3d gauges on the c310. I personally would rather not have 3d gauges. the 3d knobs are also another problem as they are more difficult to click and turn too. Just my 2 cents.flya150

To be honest I find the Realair gauges to be a whole lot more cartoonish. They look like they're all made of plastic, like everything else on the Duke. The textures are solid colors with no weathering at all. It is a shame Realair hasn't improved on this aspect of all of their addons. They need a different texture artist.Carenado introducing 3D gauges is a "giant leap" forward for them. I hope they continue to improve on them in the future. What Carenado REALLY needs to do is get a better beta team. The C340 appeared to be a cleaner release at first but a ton of bugs have been reported since then.
