we need a demo

Featured Replies

It is my opinion that FS2Crew should come up with a demo for the voice commander series of addons. Something simple, such as enabling pre-departure events only, perhaps at a specific airport (like DBS walk and follow demo, or the AES scenery).I find it difficult to decide if I should buy the VC edition because there is more at play with this adon than your basic FS2C packages from the past (and I have a couple). I don't know if I would like using the voice version (because I already love the button version), yet I am a real world pilot. I don't know how well my hardware will work (and I don't plan on spending more money to upgrade my hardware). And there are those people with heavier accents too.So I think it could be quite valuable to have a demo available so we can have a crack at it. I will confess, I tried to find a free copy of one (don't worry, the only one available is the maddog, it's hard to find, and it doesn't work). But if it did work, and I liked it, I would have bought the 747 or 767 VC version that day (both of which I purchased the original versions). But not having tried it, I stopped myself from buying a new version of a product I already have - $15 or otherwise.Sacha

you do not need to worry about upgrades for your PC to run Voice, it does not effect it in anyway, do yourself a favour, i have most of the VC editions and they are amazing and worth it, Dont bother about trial software, take it from me and 100`s of others that use Bryans VC products, they are fantastic, as a real world pilot you will enjoy the interaction.Rick

I have all of the Voice Control editions. In short, I no longer fly any aircraft that does not have such an edition available. As amazing as aircraft like the PMDG MD-11 and iFly 737NG are, FS2Crew Voice Control is an absolute marvel. At least take a chance on one version and see what's it's like. If you're in to real world procedures, I doubt you'll look back.

Hi Sacha,I'm currently considering the idea of a demo for upcoming versions. It may happen. It may not. For the voice versions, though, hardware isn't really issue. All you need is a microphone (I recommend getting a $20 USB headset). The only problem people run into is if they don't read the requirements and they can't set their speech recognizer in the Control Panel to English - US.This is not an issue for people from English speaking countries (like Ireland, the UK, South Africa, Canada, the US, NZ and Australia), but for other users running localized versions of Vista/Win 7 (but not XP) it can be an issue. As for spoken regional accents, I don't know where you're from, but to give you an example we have several non-native English speakers using voice, and the speech recognition system works well with their accents. In fact, there's a YouTube video out there of a guy from Japan using the PMDG 737 Voice version of FS2Crew, and you can see it works well with his accent.Cheers,

Thanks for your good words guys. It's nice to know people think so highly of FS2Crew.From what I've seen, I would have to be entirely responsible to 'pretend' to make cabin announcements, departure/approach briefings, etc...none of which I would normally do in FS anyway (and none of which would really affect the simulation). Does the documentation by any chance come with templates for that sort of thing?

Hi Sacha,In the current voice versions, you'd be responsible for making PA, briefs, etc., if you chose to make. It doesn't affect the sim if you don't it.I may, however, change this in an upcoming voice product... in other words, I may add some button control elements to the voice product. Maybe.Cheers,

Same here......Voice Control take the simulation up to a higher and more realistic level. In my opionien the best tool since years for the FS! My hope is to see it for the IFLY737 too.
