March 24, 201511 yr I have never regretted buying the Realair SF260, bought it for FS9 and it was the first thing I bought again when I moved to FSX. An absolute classic and the price is great these days. Everyone should own this one. http://www.realairsimulations.com/sf260fs9/buynow.php?page=sf260fs9_buynow I'd get home from flying my real RV6A ( 2 place, sliding canopy, C/S prop)...............and the RealAir SF260 was always the simulated airplane that felt most like the real thing. Other planes and other sims, just didn't do it as convincing. Of course, the Marchetti SF260 isn't exactly an RV..............but they're much alike in numerous ways. I've flown the real SF260 too. I still think this product is one of the best simulated airplanes ever, for single engine GA. Also used for FS9 & FSX.

March 25, 201511 yr Sascha - the Dornier Do27 is superb. Produced by Digital Aviation and marketed by Aerosoft. It is an outstanding product in every way Ian Ian, I've had my finger hovering over the buy button many a time . I should really take the plunge I suppose. The only thing that held me back is the impression from the screenshots that th VC windows are not fully transparent but seem to have a greyish tinge overlaying the outside view - that is one of my personal hats in FS aircraft ... I know many people are not bothered and some even prefer this but for me it is a yeeugh no-no. What is your impression of the Dornier VC, is there really an opaque effect? Cheers, Sascha Sascha Rieger | EVO Developer What is EVO • How to get Evo 2016 • FS9 Evolution Forum
March 26, 201511 yr I don't recall ever having a problem with that. You can open the side-vent windows in flight and it will look clearer there but it's a very realistic effect. You also get a dirty windshield after a bit of flying - squished bugs etc. It's really pretty cool. If there is any "downside" to the model it is that you absolutely have to fly it by the book - there is an "easy" mode but you will still get failures if you exceed any limits. To me that's a plus as it keeps it always challenging to fly. If you press that "buy button" my friend, I doubt you will regret it! ^_^
March 26, 201511 yr If you press that "buy button" my friend, I doubt you will regret it! ^_^ Ok, then - my next purchase is clear, thanks for the feedback! ^_^ Sascha Rieger | EVO Developer What is EVO • How to get Evo 2016 • FS9 Evolution Forum
March 26, 201511 yr Ok, then - my next purchase is clear Although it's getting a little long-in-the-tooth (as am I) Sascha, if you don't agree with Ian and I that the Dornier is the bee's knees I'll donate towards V3.0 of Evo :excl:
March 27, 201511 yr I need to finish the current Evo2015 version i.e. spring before I can think about v3.0, so I'll let you off Sascha Rieger | EVO Developer What is EVO • How to get Evo 2016 • FS9 Evolution Forum
March 29, 201511 yr If we had really been thinking, we wouldn't be encouraging you to buy any new addons! What were we thinking? -- we shouldn't be encouraging you to do ANY flight simming at all. Just stick to developing EVO!!! Nyah, we don't begrudge you having SOME fun!! :lol:Just not TOO much fun.... Then back to work!!! ^_^ Cheers mate Ian
April 4, 201511 yr Hi, may I take the opportunity to ask two questions: 1. I found that the makers of the french C-150, François-Denis Guidée et Yves Franckart have also done a Robin DR.221. Unfortunately, if I visit their site http://www.fs-tutoriels.com/fr/tel_avion_DR221_01.php and click the link "Telecharger - ROBIN DR 221 - François-Denis Guidée et Yves Franckart pour FS 2004", I always come back to the same site and can't download the plane. Does anybody know how to make it? Sorry, I understand only few words in French. 2. I'm looking for a good model of the Piper PA28 (Cherokee) series. There is the Carenado Cherokee model from 2004 and the Archer II model from 2009, both with superb optics. Then there are the Archer III and Warrior models by JustFlight (Flying club series) which are from 2011 but look not that good. Frankly, I tend to the oldest model, the Carenado Cherokee because of its look (inside and outside), choice of repaints and due to having a 2D panel - while I prefer VC for looking around and taking screenshots, I tend to "navigate" from the 2D view. Or is there any freeware alternative? I know the Archer II by Harmans/Cornelissen and the PA-28-140 model by Ole Egholm. Both are nice but have mid-2000s standard. What's your opinion? April 4, 201511 yr I always come back to the same site and can't download the plane. Does anybody know how to make it? Harald I tried but an authorisation box appeared ... I gather one must firstly register at their site in order to download. Incidentally the download link is in small type several lines above the 'flashing' paragraph. Hope this helps somewhat.
April 4, 201511 yr Thanks Appliance, will try later. Happy Easter! Harald Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
April 5, 201511 yr Harald, I have the DR221 you are looking for and a DR400 by Yannick Levigne/Fred Banting/Rob Young, adapted for FS2004 by Eric Dantes and Jean-Pierre Bourgeois, both excellent models - I haven't had to "tweak" either of them. I also have the Carenado Cherokee which I can highly recommend, however last week I downloaded the freeware CLS Piper Arrow just for fun and after a few days of tweaking I have it exactly as I like it - including widescreen 2D panel. If you need the DR221 let me know, Regards, Tim Tim Wright "The older I get, the better I was..."
April 5, 201511 yr last week I downloaded the freeware CLS Piper Would you care to let us know where you downloaded it?
April 5, 201511 yr Thanks guys, I was now able to download the Robin. Just had to ease my browser's security settings. Regarding the CLS Arrow: If I remember correctly, one can "order" it for 0 $ at CLS' site. I once did so, but then installing required registering at CLS and that failed and failed so I gave up installing it. Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
