March 31, 201115 yr Hi Guys,I don't know how many of you have tried the Concorde X from FlightsimLabs. I purchased it, installed it and I've flown it for about an hour. Not bad at all but here's my concern-- the inside graphics!I'm kinda conused...It's supposed to be one of the best products out there but, I'm not sure about the graphics...they look too pale. The outside is noce but the inside, not good, poor graphics. I understand they wanted to make it look as near as possible as the real thing (kinda oldies-look-like), but I think the inside looks too pale and very, very "squared" graphics.--- Sorry, guys but I was expecting the graphics to be like the Aerosoft Airbus X...OMG, have you seen those graphics? It's smooth graphics and soft edges looks soooo real-- not bulky, not pale, and not "squared edges" all over the place. It's almost like the real thing, man !John
March 31, 201115 yr Uh, what? You are disappointed that the Concorde-X cockpit looks realistic and very close to the real Concorde cockpit? I own it, and it has a fantastic rendition of the actual cockpit in my opinion. Shane Gavin
March 31, 201115 yr Uh, what? You are disappointed that the Concorde-X cockpit looks realistic and very close to the real Concorde cockpit? I own it, and it has a fantastic rendition of the actual cockpit in my opinion. I am happy the cockpit looks realistic when speaking about how real it's been modeled to the real aircraft; however, what am I not happy is with the low-quality of the graphics the developer used....all shapes and forms are very "squared like" with squared-like edges all over the place... Have you seen the Airbus X graphics ? See the huge difference ? That's what I mean ! Perhaps they had use poor graphics to compensate for all the System dynamics that involves in flying that aircraft. The outside is nice, but not the inside !John
March 31, 201115 yr I have to say when i first purchased this i thought to myself, hmm the graphics of the virtual cockpit dont look to be very high quality. However when i spent more time flying this i realised that actually this isnt such an issue given the fact it has to be the most advanced addon ever.I suppose i was expecting beautifully rendered surfaces etc as you mention like airbus X, but the fact that the graphics are based on the real interior only serves to bolster the whole appeal and attention to detail of the plane. But i do understand what you mean.Tom Tom Why not read some useful tips and tricks - http://forum.avsim.n...22#entry1965722
March 31, 201115 yr If you have "flown" it for an hour you haven't even begun to see the depth of the Concorde X. It is CRAZY complex. I don't even know how you have time to look at the visuals on the plane. If you fly it correctly, you should be VERY BUSY doing other things, not looking around for eye candy. The Aerosoft Airbus is but a toy compared to Concorde X. I would rather have a halfway decent frame rate with the Concorde X's system modeling than have a pretty Airbus with lite systems. I think FSLabs is very clear about what you get with their product. Tired of Streetlights everywhere? Try MSFS DarkStreets today!
March 31, 201115 yr I don't see what you are talking about. Looks a lot like the real thing to me: Shane Gavin
March 31, 201115 yr Hi John,I understand you.The concorde is of course one of the best addons concerning system-deepth.But the VC isn't top-notch... it is quite good, but not the standard that other companies achive these days...I have no clue: maybe it is a tribute to framerates? March 31, 201115 yr I'm happy with the VC graphics, but you are right of course, can't compare it to the very latest 3D gauge and texture approach on less complex planes. And, yes, I even consider the fine J41 to be far away from the Conc when it comes to the systems, so I don't expect the fast Lady to carry the fine optics of e. g. latest A2A releases or even the sharp textures like on the CS 707.In my eyes, the Concorde really pushes the limits in case of complexity and systems (take the fuel system for example, what a fun to operate), so this approach of "just" enabling 90% out of 100 in the VC may well be performance related, as Guenseli said.Maybe they get back to her when the Airbus is finished. There may be some one or two glitches left to look at and they've stated more than once that the Concorde is their flagship product, staying in service.
March 31, 201115 yr Can you imagine what would be, give you high sharp detail and dirty aspect like Capitainsim does, in any case you always pay by a tremendous hit on frame rate. The concord is one of the most heavy gauge and botton implementation on the history of aviation, you get really lost on all this panel.I believe that FSLabs do it on purpose to give you good framerate wich is more important in my view.I have created the MD-82 and it was really full of gauge and botton and I had and hard time to optimaize it.Another heavy aircraft in this aspect is the 747-200 but I am looking forward that some do it.Enjoy of mach two and FL 600
