April 1, 201115 yr Does anyone know of a better set of sound files for the default Beech Baron 58? Thanks,Steve Steve 7 Miles NW of KGCK
April 1, 201115 yr Go buy the Carenado Baron. Better sound, better textures, better model, better VC, better flight dynamics, better everything. Guess that doesn't help if you're looking for freeware though... :( Tired of Streetlights everywhere? Try MSFS DarkStreets today!

April 1, 201115 yr +1 !! They nailed the sounds dead on.Question for anyone who has the Carenado Baron. The Carenado Caravan has an option to disable the window tint effect in the cockpit. Does the Baron have this same option? I ask because I have a 3 monitor setup, using the Matrox TripleHead2Go, and I have to fly all my planes in the virtual cockpit. I find that the tint effect is overdone on some of the 3rd party aircraft I have, making the view outside the windshield too dark. Having an option to disable it really improves things. Thanks.

April 1, 201115 yr Go buy the Carenado Baron. Better sound, . :(Im afraid the Carenado Baron doesn't sound like a real Baron (particularly from the external pov). Carenado rarely hits mark with sounds. I always replace the sounds. The Realair Duke is much more representative of the Continentals on the B58, IMHO

April 2, 201115 yr Here's the real plane starting up:Not sure what you are trying to say there Bob. But IMHO Carenado sounds a not generally, very well done. I thought the Baron sounds were more like a 206 in parts and the merging of different sounds throughout the power range is flawed. IMHOInterestingly, Arezone sounds (which I am not really a fan of) has just produced what seems to be a really GOOD B58 Baron soundset - externals and particularly internals. I've just purchased it. They have also done a C340 soundset, which in my opinion, was awful - sounds like a mosquito. For Carenado's C340 I use Gary Jones excellent twin Lycoming Continental set here in the Avsim Library.
