I am most impressed with MS Flight

Rather than simple upward compatibility FROM FSX- one wonders about the possibility of addons exclusively FOR FLIGHT, being available when FLIGHT is released. We know that there are non disclosure agreements in place, so presumably 2nd party development is in progress. And lack of addons was a major stumbling block in customer acceptance of FSX.Has PMDG perhaps abandoned FSX 737NG in favour of FLIGHT? That might explain the extraordinary delay in its release.Add in the potential for much improved scenery and the case for quick market acceptance of FLIGHT is compelling.AR

I hope people are not being quick to judge. First of all Microsoft Flight is probably not even close to be finished yet, so the screenshots are definitely not final, the textures and stuff might be replaced with better ones. Plus I hear some people thinking that Microsoft Flight is the same FSX engine with all the old "FS98" code but upgraded. For all we know this could be a whole new engine.. just because some textures look like or are from FSX doesn't mean it's the same engine!

Even with FSX, the engine is still FS9 part-compatible and look what we got.If we get a completely new engine, chances are to get a good sim without compromise - which leads to addon incompatibility.Which is why find so hilarious everyone is producing FSX addons, especially PMDG, who needs centuries to bring a product out, and some others too... they will bring it forward, and couple of months later I gather, Flight will appear :(

Well, as far as I know, FS9 products are still being sold so why shouldn't FSX products continue to be sold well into the future?

Dejavu.. This whole discussion we had when FSX was announced, it would be the holy grail.. but wasnt. So, buckle up.. gonna be a bumpy ride again!

Cuz if Flight proves to be a "new" sim like its supposed to, far away from the performance of FSX, more into the world of FS9 performance with awesome graphics, can you tell me the reason to keep producing and buying FSX addons? The reason FS9 is still being sold is due to poor FSX performance on any lesser computer than top notch.

Oh yes, damnit... has it been that long already...
