How realistic is the Flight1 PC-12?

Featured Replies

I love this airplane, so fast and handles great. Just wondering how realistic the FDE is? The systems aren't modeled that much, but it looks great and runs great. Lots of nose down needed on descent though!

I've flown the real aircraft a couple times. They have an incredible operational envelope, will cruise as fast as a King Air 200 and then fly an approach at near Cessna 172 speeds. I've flown pattern at 70 KIAS and the flight characteristics were very benign. That said the real aircraft is actually quite devoid of any character, does everything very good and predictably. This sim version by Flight1 is a beautiful 3d model and despite not having every switch movable it captures the experience of flying one very well. Yes, you've got to slow down and get that nose down to come down. It is quite an impressive aircraft in person and I enjoy the sim version for capturing the experience quite well.

I'm not nearly as cool as Zane having flown a real one but the PC12 is a well-rounded FS classic. It's not up-to-date by today's visual standards but it does fly smoothly. It's a good addition to your hangar and one of the few turboprops (native) for FSX. Also if you don't have it already, be sure to grab the RealAir Duke turbine :(

I too bought the PC-12 and enjoy it very much, good to know it is fairly realistic. I have never been in one, but see the Canadian RCMP PC-12's fly over my house from time to time on approach to our airport. My only wish is that I could move the large sun visors out of the way as I never use them, and find they block visability. Does anybody know of a way to move or remove them?
