I'M ALL SET FOR THE NGX RELEASE JUST LIKE MY NEW SYSTEM: THANKS RYAN !

Hi fellas !I wanted to share with you my experience. Few days ago i was posting here about the system i was working on, the hardware i would get and how useful Ryan's technical help was. Assembly all the components was not a very complicated process, even if i encountered a few problems. But after watching some tutorial videos on you tube and reading some posts here i get to install properly each thing in the tower case which by the way is a beauty Ryan. So i did a lil video to share with you. All the components are advised by Ryan except the GPU. i took the GTX 580. So if you guys have some questions just feel free to ask and i'll answer very quick. BY THE WAY, PERFORMANCE ARE INCREEEEEEEEEEEEDIBLE, BELIEVE ME !!! Thanx Ryan and Thank you all !http://www.youtube.com/user/mkbkaedi?feature=mhsnKaman BA

How did you do the overclock? Everything on auto, or did you manually set values? What is your vCore voltage at under load? I found when I set everything on auto, vCore was close to 1.5v which is way too high as 1.52 is the thermal shutoff point. Manually, I was able to get down to around 1.425v at 4.7 Ghz which still seems high but more within limits and temps around 65C with aftermarket cooler under load.

Hi tony,Actually i did the overclock using the asus Utility when im on the desktop. I went to the autotuning tab: then you have two choices quick overclock or extreme. i tried both: the quick option got my cpu to 4.3Ghz but not any higher. the extreme option runs a kind of stability test every 0,1 ghz starting from your current frequency. so in my case it was 4.4 than 4.5 than 4.6 etc... there is a stop icon that you have to press once you got your target frequency.(you have a temp alert when the cpu freq is too high) As this is the Asus software i guess the paremeter should do fine ..... I dont know if i make it clear if not i'll try againKaman BA

Wow. I have mine rock-solid at 5.2GHz with a vCore of 1.325v. I'll post my batch number if anyone is interested.

If you did it all automated, you NEED to check your voltages. The motherboard likes to set them too high when the voltages are set automatically. You can KILL your processor real quick if your voltage is too high. It's not just about heat, it's about how much voltage you're pushing through this new architecture.

Thanks Kaman. Nice setup, BTW. I set things on auto from the Bios at first and was seeing CPU voltages spiking over 1.5v around 4.8-4.9 Ghz. Exactly what Ethan is saying so be careful!Ethan, you must have gotten a really good batch. No way mine would run that at 1.325v. I'd like to push to 5 Ghz, but don't think my chip can take it safely if it's already this high.

BY THE WAY, PERFORMANCE ARE INCREEEEEEEEEEEEDIBLE, BELIEVE ME !!!
The performance are also "INCREEEEEEEEEEEEDIBLE" when taxiing with the PMDG MD-11/PMDG 747X at an add-on airport such as Aerosoft (EHAM)? I'm thiking about to get i5 2500K, P8P67 mobo with GTX 570 but I'm not sure if I get 25+ fps with 737NGX at Aerosoft Mega Airport Amsterdam with REX and some traffic ...

Yeah tony you are right so i just need to keep the vcore below 1.4 right ? is that the only parameter i should watch ?
I've read that trying to keep it below 1.4v is best to extend the life of the CPU. The goal should be to run stable at as low a voltage as possible. Ethan's voltage ideal if you can get that low.

Affirmative sir! you can easily imagine that's the first thing i tried: run fsx on an airport scenery such as ELLX aerosoft (fps breaker) and i get 40 fps with the PMDG MD -11. i got more than 100 sceneries from the most famous companies and on the heaviest sceneries performances are just great. (even with ORBX products...) I DOUBLED my frames and no more stutterings.Kaman BA

Oke great FPS but also great graphics? Smooth sharp lines? What are your fsx settings? Tweaked fsx.cfg, wich tweaks have you been using?

Great machine! I just wanted to ask if it is difficult to build a computer by yourself? How would you know where each cable goes to on the motherboard, is it in the manual? Thanks
