June 25, 201114 yr Cheers, getting back to flying both sim and IRL. I'm interested in what addon(s) are recommended for best visual/geogaphical experience?I'm thinking UTX Europe for proper roads, coastlines, lakes, rivers etc as my first priority, where should I go after that to get as close to reality as possible when it comes to the looks of the terrain? Any photorealistic scenery that covers Sweden, if so, how does that compare to other graphical addons? I'm striving for as real as possible terrain graphics.Thanks. /Tord Hoppe, Sweden

June 25, 201114 yr I know nothing for Sweden, but for Europe in general:- A good mesh (best one would be FSGlobal Europe/Africa with up to 2m mesh grid)- Photoreal Scenery for the Netherlands (free), for Germany and Switzerland (payware).- If you don't want photoreal, then GEX Europe is a must.

June 25, 201114 yr It gets better though with SceneryTech landclass :-) - and that's my next recommendation
June 25, 201114 yr It gets better though with SceneryTech landclass :-) - and that's my next recommendationFor Sweden??? No thanks. I´ve tried it and IMO it's not a good choice for Sweden.EDITED: UTX Europe landclass and the defalt FSX Landclass is quite good IMO. The SWED2011 will also have a custom landclass for Sweden.
June 25, 201114 yr I'd recommend FS Dreamscapes Pro Mesh products, which do a great job of souping up the terrain elevation, although the coverage is not for all of Europe, but they come in nice small national segments, so are affordable, and feasible to download too.UTX Europe has a good stab at making things look better in general over European terrain and it does suit VFR, but its not hard to do that given the default rendition. I suspect you might be happier with photorealistic stuff, however, UTX would certainly fill the gaps in coverage in a better way than the default stuff does. Horizon and UK2000 are the obvious choices for UK scenery, although there are one or two Just Flight products worth looking at as well.It is worth checking out the Avsim library too of course, since there are plenty of things in there which you might otherwise not find as a commercial product.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 25, 201114 yr UTX, GEX, and Cloud9's landclass for most all areas, with SceneryTech as a 'back-up'. SceneryTech does a better job in a few areas, like the very northern areas of Norway, as one example.I also installed FS Genesis mesh long ago, and almost forgot about that as well.

June 25, 201114 yr Try Norway Scenic X wich also provide an excellent landclass (http://www.flightsim.no/fsno/filbibliotek/fsx/scenery/europa/norge/24.html).Yes, I did at one time, but if I remember correctly, it did not work well with the combinations of other add-ons I have. I still have in on the hard drive, just 'switched-off' in FSX.

June 26, 201114 yr Author Guys, thank you for your suggestions. Since I primarily am looking for accurate details to navigate, or rather orienteer, around the Stockholm area using my normal flight map I've bought UTX Europe. I'll eagerly await the Swed2011 project which looks fabulous, especially for those VFR GA inclined amongst us :)As to mesh, even if Sweden does have its ups and downs (see what I did there, lol) I'm not sure that the standard FSX mesh warrants the purchase of commercial mesh. I've no doubt that it is worth the cost if one should tour Norway, the Alps or other parts of the world with hills and mountains. For now I'll mostly stick to the south and central parts of Sweden so I'll hold off on getting mesh. Perhaps look for freeware files in the file library? For gliding I actually have Condor hidden away somewhere on the harddrive, glider sims are usually very good at rendering the correct geography.Again, thanks to all!PS. This is what I'll be flying in: WT-9 Dynamic /Tord Hoppe, Sweden
