PMDG - MD82?

Hi Ryan,Looking at the B717 thread/question I couldn't resist to ask:Is it possible that PMDG will do a MD82/83?I have been following PMDG topics for many years. I know and understand your general policy on "omerta" on these matters and I have also read that you are currently working on two projects that have not been unveiled yet.Just a general question: MD8X possible or also "extremely unlikely"?Please do not reply to this question with "we are waiting for the 737NGX, 777 or Dash 8"Thanks,Christos

I'd say unlikely, as it's already been done by two other developers. It would be nice, but I'd rather see other planes, too.

Most certainly is. If anyone is interested in the MD80, the Leo Maddog is a very detailed and in depth simulation of the plane. Has the cumulative failiure model, shared cockpit, when things fail in the plane, a little INOP sticker will show up (when my APU failed in flight, the next time I got in the sticker was over the APU switch, also happened with GPWS, and an engine electrical generator.).

It's a reference to the MEL (MMEL), nothing particularly "British" about it...

Not the same flight! That would certainly remove any faith I had in the MD-80 if that had been the case. But she still is an old bird and needs a lot of love to keep her off the ground. Keeps me on my toes when taking her to 30,000 feet above the Earth. When you start to get into this grade of add-on, you walk away from the sim at your own peril. Hope the NGX fits into this criteria.But the Maddog does do a very good job making one feel like things are going on. You see the pressures change, the temps flux, all like there is a machine working behind the gauges, not just a gauge simulator like so many of the chearper addons you can find out there.If you are a fan of PMDG or Level D stuff, you will find the Leo Maddog will not disappoint in terms of detail. Its VC graphically is very impaired, nothing on the level of the JS41, and I would even say slightly worse than the Level D 767 and PMDG 744, both old and shows its age, but it is the systems and the flight dynamics that makes the Maddog shine. And there is also a voice version of FS2Crew avaiable for it, which makes it only that much better to fly.

+1000The maddog is the best short hauler available in FS IMHO. Given that the PMDG MD11 is the best long hauler McDonnell Douglas is the only thing I fly nowadays. If only there was an FS2Crew MD-11 voice comander edition...Once we have the NGX, the T7 and the Flight Sim Labs Airbuses my flight sim world will be sort of complete in terms of variety

Another +1000 for the LSH MD-82! They even included functional circuit breakers located on the aft overhead panel, which "pop" in response to malfunctions. If you keep resetting popped CBs, it can lead to bigger failures.The visual model may be simple, and the VC lacking in detail, but if you look really closely at the external, you will see something that I haven't seen modeled anywhere else (hint: flight controls)...If you get this add-on, you really must get the real-world manuals to fly it properly. I've heard that it is very hard on frames though. If someone can prove me wrong, I will happily buy it .

The Maddog kicks &@($*. Its hard on the frames, but its still easily the best plane for FSX. Its such a joy to fly!

Only thing that's terrible about the FSX Maddog for me is its performance. I'm quite sure its my worst performing aircraft in FSX. My solution is to simply fly it in less graphic intensive places and all is fine. But anywho, other than the bad performance, I think it's the best simulated plane currently on the market by a long shot. As I see it, only the PMDG 737NGX stands a chance at dethroning the Maddog.
