The VC10 has bucket reversers that are enclosed within the cowlings and the air is passed through a grill.vololiberista
Buckets are usually external (the 737-200 reverser is a classic example). The VC10 has internal reverser doors of the clamshell type, the reversed airflow passing through louvres uncovered when the clamshell doors close. Buckets and clamshells do more or less the same thing, the difference is in the shape of the doors. This paper has a diagram on the second page which illustrates the three main types of reverser.http://www.raes.org.uk/pdfs/2891.pdfThis link has diagrams of the VC10 thrust reverser.http://www.enginehistory.org/Installations/VC10/thrustreverserreverseposition.htmlKevin Hall

This Video shows a good visual demo of reversers on a 747

Actually I'd like to have some sort of an interlock/reverse detents in the NGX... As many airports like reverse idle way more than full reverse I'd like to be able to replicate that. Would be nice to see, although I would not have an idea of how it could be made possible.sig.gif

After retarding throttles to idle, hitting F2 once should be enough to get the reversers to deploy while leaving the engines at idle.Kevin Hall

Most addon aircraft (including the NGX) has this. Once at idle, you simply press (not press and hold) F2 and you are now set at reverse idle.

Thanks, I certainly know what you are talking about, forgot about that. This also works on stock aircraft. But I assume there won't be a 'shortcut' to place the revs into the other detents, which I thought would be cool.sig.gif
