July 20, 201114 yr The NGX runs a 20 second initialization routine when it first loads into the sim. This routine first appeared in our MD-11and what the airplane is doing is setting up the simulator’s internal environment and restarting FS’s engine code in orderto better initialize the way we control the engine behavior from outside of the normal FSX framework. Our advice is tonot touch anything during this 20 second period to ensure everything is set up correctly. You may hear a quick burst ofsound when loading the airplane as the countdown starts, this is a normal quirk of the FSX sound engine when restartingthe sim’s engine code suddenly.Sounds like we may not have to mess with default planes any more! Very nice touch having the NGX automatically load a particular panel save instead of starting a flight & having to load it manually. July 20, 201114 yr thanks for the update Ryan, a very useful setting! One of my pet peeves is having to always start an aircraft with everything running, glad to know I can set the NGX to C&D. Just a quick thought, is that for all models or can you set the individual models to different startup states? for example if you wanted the 700 to always start cold and dark, but the 600 to be ready to start engines? I'd like to know as well. Could we start 800 ready to go, but 700 C&D. Very good question! Ethan Rayhorn My Office: (Taken at FL410)
July 20, 201114 yr Little Question at this point:We all know that for the 737 NG series many liverys are existing. Will they all appear in the "Select aircraft" section in the fsx free flight page? It would be great if there were only the PMDG repaint models and the other repaints could only be selected with the FMC so the chaos in the "Select aircraft" page won't appear ;) regards, Alexander Marx
July 20, 201114 yr "chaos in the "Select aircraft" page" ???Why would you load it through the FMC if you can select it from that list? I don't see the problem? Lukas "TIN TIN -=9th Shrek=-" Mathijsen
July 20, 201114 yr Author Commercial Member Erm is this not pretty much standard these days?!There's only one addon I'm aware of that allows you to select any startup state and even then it forces you to load an FSX flight file along with it. (which means you can't position the aircraft wherever you want without another step in the process after loading). With the NGX you can create any panel state you want and then have it default the aircraft to load with it. Most other addons I've seen have a fixed set of startup options like "Engines Running" and "Cold and Dark" - the NGX is unlimited because you can make whatever exact situation you'd like.thanks for the update Ryan, a very useful setting! Not just the variant type, but down to the tail number.Little Question at this point:We all know that for the 737 NG series many liverys are existing. July 20, 201114 yr Yes sure but i don't like it when there are like 100 times "PMDG 737-800 xxx"(xxx is the repaint)But it is not that important for me. It would be a nice special anyways... regards, Alexander Marx

July 20, 201114 yr I disagree. A 727 I had for fs9 did this some years ago. It was a real PITA since I tend to land, taxi to the gate and exit the game. Not everyone do the proper shutdown procedure. FREDAt least it would be nice if you could have the option to turn it off to please everybody Thomas Danielsen - FAA Commercial Pilot, JAA ATPL

July 20, 201114 yr Goof,You can break it down further by selecting the aircraft type on the right-hand drop down. For example, "737-800" will give you just the -800 aircraft in your FSX hangar, and most likely only the PMDG ones. If you want to narrow it down even further than this, you can change the "ui_type" value in the aircraft.cfg to something like "737-800 TuiFly".
