July 26, 201114 yr With the PMDG NGX Manuals, will we be able to send them somewhere like kinkos or staples to get them printed/bound? I find it nice to print the manuals, but I want ones that are professionally printed and bound. I know we won't be able to do that with the actual Boeing manuals, but will the PMDG (General features/tutorials, etc) be able to be printed?

July 26, 201114 yr All of the manuals are printable, I don't know where the idea that they aren't got started, we never said that.Greetings,Speaking of manuals whats the plan with those, will we be able to download just the manuals for example when they're released or will they install with the aircraft like other PMDG products? Was talking in a group on ventrilo earlier today and someone there brought up the idea of asking for the manuals to be released separately ahead of the aircraft so we can all get started studying systems knowledge etc, any shot at that?-Matt BartonP.S. Please don't take my manuals request as anything more than eagerly awaiting the product release, I fully understand the extreme workload PMDG is puting into pushing this product out of the Hangar and into our hands as quickly as possible and have no problem waiting another month if need be to get things right.
July 26, 201114 yr Author All of the manuals are printable, I don't know where the idea that they aren't got started, we never said that.I mean can we send them to kinkos to get professionally printed? Maybe I misunderstood the JS4100's manual. At the beginning, it states:This manual and all of its contents, pages, text and graphics are protected under copyright law of the United States of America and international treaties. Duplication of this manual is prohibited. Permission to conduct duplication of this manual will not be subcontracted, leased or given.Where it says "Duplication of the manual is prohibited" I took it to mean we couldn't send it to kinkos to be printed. Am I just misunderstanding?
July 26, 201114 yr Yes, you misunderstood. Duplication means you make multiple copies presumably not for your own use. Michael J.
July 26, 201114 yr Commercial Member Rhen-Restrictive text will appear in the NGX manuals because it is required by the copyright owner. You can print them for your personal use, but your local printer should be required to adhere to any restrictions in the document. Your mileage may vary.I recognize that this is not what you want to hear- but the alternative is no manuals- and obviously that isn't going to work either! Robert S. July 26, 201114 yr Commercial Member Yes, in that context I believe it means duplicating (plagiarizing) the content or incorporating it into another work of your own or something, not printing it out... Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
July 26, 201114 yr Guys-I have had no trouble gettting the manuals printed at staples. The people that work there make less than a decent wage, and it appears to me they either dont know, or just dont care.Perhaps you will find this to be true at places like it. Peter Osborn

Do you put the PDFs on a USB stick and take it in and they can pull the file off and print it? I may follow suit and have them print them off for me, would save me ink and general wear and tear on my printer that way. I think it was $40-$50 to print out the 747x operating manual.

Usually takes about 20 mins, and if you want it bound, they can do all that stuff too.Edit: Joesph beat me to it. His idea is even better Peter Osborn

July 26, 201114 yr Good to hear, one of the print runs on the hard-bound manuals that I purchased last Winter was quite shoddy (acknowledged by PMDG at the time) - and it just stands out. So, at least I have recourse to rectify this problem by spending more money to correct that print problem. I do have a nice PMDG binder to put it in, so that'll be quite nice. I'm sure I'll crack those manuals now that the product seems to be close at hand. It is nice to see PMDG in the manual business again - they are nice documents if you are a plane nerd.
