August 24, 201114 yr I need a hotfix that would not freez and crash. Thanks for giving me a good laugh. I do agree on this one. Never had above problemens until today. Set up a route from KIN to MJO and couldn't avtivate it. Pressed the execute key twice or three times and got a fatal error. Restarted, did the same and had the same problem. Will restart now with another route to see if the route itself is the problem. Can not be the hotfix, have that one installed for a while now. Ralf Clemens
August 24, 201114 yr Moderator Just had the panel/aircraft freeze while landing in SIT. Was able to fly 5 legs today (over 6 hours of continues operation with ground time) before this took place. Just as I touched down in SIT, I lost all flight controls but was able to bring it to a stop as the brakes still worked for some reason. Once stopped (though its was on the side of the runway in the rocks next to the beach) I noticed that none of the flight deck systems would respond when you selected the switch/button. An outside view reveled that the wings were stuck in the full flex position even though I was on the ground and stopped. This same thing happend to me for the first time last night. I had flown DFW to IAH, IAH to DFW, then DFW back to IAH, when I was abot to touch down at IAH everything in the VC froze up about 20' off the ground. The plane touched down and rolled down the runway but I had no control of anything. The plane skidded off the runway and eventually came to s stop with the engines still at about 50% thrust, but I was unable to unfreeze the a/c and had to exit FSX. I was flying the ILS approach manually with the exception of having the A/T engaged and the FD on.Kind of weird since I had flown the same route 4 times earlier in the day without it happening. In fact, its the first time the a/c has froze up completely since I have owned it. I have had the occasional pauses but never had it to where the scenery was going by but had no control of the a/c.I ended up submitting a ticket today.Sean Campbell Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
August 25, 201114 yr Thanks for giving me a good laugh. I do agree on this one. Never had above problemens until today. Set up a route from KIN to MJO and couldn't avtivate it. Can not be the hotfix, have that one installed for a while now. I tried the sames leg with a different route on my FMC, pressed execute to activate it on the FMC and no fatal error. So fatal error and freezes while manipulating the FMC certainly have somthing to do with the route you put in. Ralf Clemens
August 28, 201114 yr I have found that was triggers the freeze for me is 2 things. First, since I have three monitors connected I click the Nav display and PFD to resize them to something suitable (otherwise they are stretched across my screen). secondly, when I turn the nav display to "plan mode" then use the step function in the FMC CDU to review my route I get the freeze. I can make this happen everytime by doing the above. Just thought I'd mention this, so PMDG can make a note of an exact procedure that produces this freeze (my case anyway). Any news on a comprehensive serivce pack coming up? Cheers, Nicholas Boskovic
