August 7, 201114 yr Does anyone know how to overcome choke, parkingbrake settings to have AES working?A simple walkthrough would help .find it frustrating that i have to go to fmc menu every time a have to set or release brakes so AES works.thanks Michael Moe
August 7, 201114 yr Commercial Member Sorry.. not sure what you mean by choke, parkingbrake settings.... Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
August 7, 201114 yr The way the brakes work is perfectly aligned with AES. When the chocks are in place you can release the parking brake, like it is in the real world i think. You only need the parking brake during engine start and when arriving at the gate bfore chocks are in place. AES nicely warns when to go to the cdu to place/remove chocks. [edit] Also FsPassengers is very happy about this Gerrit
August 7, 201114 yr Author so if i understand it correctly you should always control this via the FMC ? The parkingbrake in VC has no function as it does not "remove" the red message in the left down corner for me. I have to set chocks after pushback, otherwise AES will stick to the plane even with the parkingbrakes down in VC and that is odd. Regards Michael Michael Moe
August 7, 201114 yr Commercial Member Oh.. chockS... you originally wrote chokeE and I was confused. For SP1 perhaps we can set up a simple keyboard command. Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
August 7, 201114 yr Commercial Member If chocks are set then FSX recognise it as parking brake that is why you get the Parking brake message. If chocks are in it does not matter if your parking brake is enabled. What I do is whith chocks enabled the parking brake handle is diabled. When I ask for push and after APU is ON I activate teh parking brakes and remove chocks. Ase soon as I receive release parking brakes from AES I just remove teh parking brake Chris Makris PLEASE NOTE PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at http://forum.pmdg.com
August 7, 201114 yr Author Well that would be nice. The Parkingbrake in VC does not give me the red textmessage in left down corner but only the red light .Is that correct? Maybe AES "sees" chocks as parkingbrakes and not vice versa Michael Moe
August 7, 201114 yr To add to this: Parked at the gate, only chocks in place no parking brakes. F6-prepare for departure- "blocks removed", remove chocks. after AES Pushback- "set parking brake", set parking brake for engine start after engine start, release parking brake to get the taxi clearing. [edit] the above was without pushback, with pushback as Olympic260 explained Gerrit
August 7, 201114 yr Author This is my problem. AES says "Set parkingbrake" after pushback does not work in VC. AES does not recognize the VC parkingbrake is on. i have to go to FMC and set back chocks on and vice versa before taxi. The VC parkingbrake is useless with AES /Michael Michael Moe
August 7, 201114 yr Worked for me today at KATL. AES says set parking brakes, did so in VC, then he says ok wait for signal on left side... August 7, 201114 yr From the manual: NOTE: In the PMDG 737NGX we have an option that allows you to placechocks under the wheels in order to hold the airplane in place. We do thisby forcing the FSX parking brake on in the background, while allowingyou to set/release the airplane’s parking brake at will. You will notice thered FSX “Parking Brake Set” message appear whenever you have wheelchocks set, since we are using the brake in this fashion. If you wish toeliminate this red message, simply look in your FSX.CFG for:InfoParkingBrakesEnable=TrueChange True to False and the message will no longer appear!*We decided not to change your FSX.CFG file automatically, as someusers do not appreciate such changes being made without permission!
