i usually google on terms like 'approach', 'charts' combined with the ICAO code of the airport and 9 out 10 times i will find some sort of PDF online for free. and for the whole world, not just the US

Hehe good luck to them, I've been working on international charts for 18 months. Most flight simmers can't afford the ridiculous price we would have to charge for the royalties to just one of these countries, let alone all of them lol.

Not sure why would anyone want those app mentioned at the top. Fltplan.com has Ipad application that is also free, is in fact used by real pilots, has ton of other important stuff like flight planning, true weather briefings and in about a month will also feature Canadian charts, right now they have US charts only.
