August 18, 201114 yr Hi,How can you get the FMA to annunciate "CMD" after glideslope capture instead of "SINGLE CH" like in this video at 3:46? Thanks
August 18, 201114 yr Hi,How can you get the FMA to annunciate "CMD" after glideslope capture instead of "SINGLE CH" like in this video at 3:46? ThanksYou get that on a fail passive landing !! Fred. This is now correct behaviour - it was wrong in the initial release and the latest hotfix has corrected it. SINGLE CH will disappear at 1500' RA if both APs are engaged and both nav / courses are set to the ILS freq... Adam Turley That is correct !Flare and Rollout arm at just under 1500 feet. August 18, 201114 yr what are the procedures after the last picture was shot ?did you try to autoland with gear up, flaps 2 and way to high Vref ?Hmm... good eye and he's still DME 7.0 at 2,520 ft. Edward Smoker Sr.
August 18, 201114 yr Author what are the procedures after the last picture was shot ?did you try to autoland with gear up, flaps 2 and way to high Vref ? Vref was correct for the weight which was well below MLW. Is there a weight limit for autoland? The config makes no difference. I can fly the entire 10 mile approach in full landing config and Vref and still no autoland. Hi,How can you get the FMA to annunciate "CMD" after glideslope capture instead of "SINGLE CH" like in this video at 3:46? Thanks That must have been taken before hotfix 2. Hmm... good eye and he's still DME 7.0 at 2,520 ft. And still on GS... Any further guidance appreciated. Regards Howard H D Isaacs
August 18, 201114 yr Vref was correct for the weight which was well below MLW. Is there a weight limit for autoland?in this example vref are:158 for flaps 15150 for flaps 30143 for flaps 40 the setting the picture had vref set to 185 (MCP) < the IAS/MACH knob edit:you have to select the correct one for the flaps you are using ... if you try to land with flaps 30 you need to set the knob to display 155 (vref+5) in the IAS/MACH window if you didn't do it maybe can you upload the saved file so that the others can test it ? August 18, 201114 yr I'm no expert; however, I think the key to solving this riddle is to see a picture of your displays around 1,000. Being on the G/S isn't enough. Also in the new image it would help to see your flaps and gear in landing configuration along with the correct speed. In that screen you are to far, to high, not enough flaps, to fast, and no landing gear to get LAND3. Think of SINGLE CH as the plane saying "Okay are we going to land here or not?" and LAND3 as "Yep, you want to put her down and I'm ready too!" In your screen shots you still look undecided. August 18, 201114 yr can you maybe upload your save file ? because everything looks ok on the pictures ... P.L. TranAMD Ryzen 5800x; 32 GB Ram; EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3; Win10 64 Bit
August 18, 201114 yr I have exactly the same problem since installing hotfix3. Still looking for a solution. Graeme Brown
August 18, 201114 yr I tried the EGKK 08R approach myself now ... works without any problems ... got land3 dual ap land without any problems with the settings in the screenshot ...I don't know why its not working for you P.L. TranAMD Ryzen 5800x; 32 GB Ram; EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3; Win10 64 Bit
August 18, 201114 yr Author I tried the EGKK 08R approach myself now ... works without any problems ... got land3 dual ap land without any problems with the settings in the screenshot ...I don't know why its not working for you Thanks for investigating. I suspect it due to saved flights or (maybe add on scenery) so I will try a quick circuit and also save the approach and try it. Regards Howard H D Isaacs
August 18, 201114 yr Okay one last really, really silly question. Please try not to laugh to hard at me here, lolz. In the FMC under approach you punched up ILS08R and not 08R correct? I mean you must have, you captured the localizer and glide slope as we can all see from the screen shots. Edward Smoker Sr.
August 18, 201114 yr Author Thanks again for all of your input guys. I did a new flight starting at EGKK and ending with the same approach at EGKK 08R and it gave LAND 3 successfully (well, until 400 feet with my first OOM - thats what you get for running nearly everything maxed out)... I had previously saved the approach and flew it again and that landed successfully as well. My guess is that if you have saved flights before one of the hotfixes (dont know which one) then it will not work (on autoland at least) with latest hotfix. Maybe something was changed in the panel state files. This is just a guess though...... More possibly similar issues here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/345170-no-autoland-after-hotfix3/ Fantastic aircraft anyway. Regards Howard H D Isaacs
August 19, 201114 yr Hi Wolfgang Unfortunately it never changes from single channel. The A/P will disconnect eventually and it is behaving as if one receiver is not tuned. I note that the course seems to have magically changed itself from 079 to 080. That was not me. Mind you I dont think that is relevant. You can turn that option off in the CDU. Fred.Any idea why I keep getting the above on approaches (both EGKK and LFMN saved flights). Yes both A/P's on, both NAV receivers tuned and both courses set correctly. Worked okay for the initial install but has not worked for a few days now. Do I have an option wrongly set somewhere? Many thanks. That is now correct ! Before the hotfix it said CMD instead of Single Channel. Fred. This is now correct behaviour - it was wrong in the initial release and the latest hotfix has corrected it. SINGLE CH will disappear at 1500' RA if both APs are engaged and both nav / courses are set to the ILS freq... Adam Turley That is correct ! Frederic Steiner.
